Omega Warranty Issues
New to the Omega world and looking to buy a Speedmaster. My local AD is offering a new Sapphire Moonwatch at $5,300 out the door and says Omega will not honor warranty for pieces not purchased at ADs.
What say you folks? I can do better through other means on a BNIB piece but is it worth a few hundred bucks just to buy from the AD...? |

I call BS.... I recently sent in my Omega AT GMT for a crown issue and it came back repaired and no questions asked, I purchased it preowned from a known seller and was not thru an AD, if you have the warranty card regardless of who’s name is on it they should accept.
Now if you purchased it from say Jomashop or similar it would likely not be covered as they don’t come with a warranty card

It's true that buying from an AD who validates the warranty, or from an Omega Boutique, or from Omega directly via the web are the channels through which an Omega watch comes with a valid Omega warranty. That warranty then follows the watch. |

My opinion is yes, it is worth a few hundred bucks to have validated documents (cards) and to have the 5-year Omega warranty.
If you trade the watch, you'll recoup those few hundred bucks on a watch with papers and manufacturer's warranty. If you don't trade the watch, then what's a few hundred bucks amortized across the thirty (forty? fifty?) years that you'll enjoy the watch? |

They will, as long as you have a valid warranty card. If you don't, then no. If you go grey market, some offer their own warranty, but Omega wouldn't cover the watch warranty under those circumstances. They also will not service a watch that has had the serial removed.

Buy slightly pre-owned and through one of our Trusted Sellers. Make sure the package is complete with inner and outer boxes, manuals and warranty card. Save hundreds if not 1k or more. The warranty follows the watch, not the owner.

If the difference is a “few hundred bucks” I would buy from the AD.
