SBDC073 Frost Monster

I ordered one of these last weekend (in a bit of a red wine fueled late night shopping spree!)
Anyone picked one up yet? Would be interested in photos and impressions.

Got mine last week.
Pleasantly surprised with this Ice Monster iteration. Well made, keeps good time +- 7 sec on mine anyway and the lume is almost neon like when charged. Looks like a Christmas tree in the dark. But it only lasts for about 4- 6 hours before it goes dim.

The frosted ice dial is mesmerising. Just like miniature flakes of shaved ice daubed delicately on the dial. My crappy phone photos don't do justice to this model. Bezel is buttery smooth but I noticed that some lines don't align.

My local watchmaker had a challenging time resizing it. She claims the pins were different with barbell like bulges at each end.

But why quibble on such a beautiful watch on this price point, aggressively designed to be sporty yet we'll styled enough to be an everyday watch.

The cyclops serves me well and for those who need a readable date magnifier this is a deal maker.

A no worry, no baby robust watch.

With a new movement of 6R15 it keeps good time and a nice watch to have in your collection.

It has since sold out in some online stores and increased in prices too.

Grab it while you can.

Yay, it’s here!
I’ve owned Monsters before so I pretty much knew what I was getting into. I don’t care for the bracelet...neither the sizing nor the wearing! Thankfully it’s 20 mm with drilled lugs so there are many many options; I’ve ordered a blue Erika’s Original which I think will look great on this one.
As for the movement, based on others I’ve owned I assume the 6R15 will be a nice upgrade over the previous generations.

But really who cares about all that...this watch is all about the dial. And it’s spectacular! At first glance it looks like regular silver, which is a fine colour for a dive watch. But then at a closer examination it really catches light in surprising and interesting ways...almost sparkling. And closer still you can appreciate the texture as well as the colour. I think I will try a few blue straps to bring out the icy blue tones in the dial. As others have noted, it’s a bit hard to capture in photos...but I think the ones so far in this thread do pretty well.

My quick shot doesn’t add much, but I couldn’t comment without one!

Can you hear a discernable swirl of the rotor? Try doing a slow ala uppercut motion and rest the watch hand close to your ear. Hear it? Do it again.

Doesn't bother me, just interested if you noticed it.

I can hear rotor noise on mine as well. i expect it for non- high end automatic watches. Plus i wear my watch on my wrist, not my ear. so its no bother to me either

A minor mod but a cool one in my opinion. Swapped the steel bezel for metallic blue (from SRP455). Really brings out the frosty dial!

Sarb 035 - beautiful watch for the price, bought pre-owned mint.

Time to mix it up with a dark green perlon.
