Value of sequentially numbered 1967 5512’s?

Hi Gang,
I may have come across an identical watch to mine, with a sequential serial number, as they were ordered/purchased at the same time, to the same specs. (My father and brother bought these at the same time)

I have the original Rolex/COSC paperwork for at least one of them.

Assuming similar condition, would anyone here know if this would contribute to the value of the pair, or if they would still just be valued as the individual items?

Here’s a shot of the one watch for reference. (I don’t want to keep posting the same pics...)

Thanks.

I think its a neat novelty to be consecutive but to make them worth more (Minimal increase for the novelty) they would always have to stay together and a lot of collectors dont want to dish out for 2 watches, let alone 1.

Nice watch btw OP

I don't think it would increase the value by much, but maybe a little...

Would be nice for a father and son, or maybe a gift from father to 2 sons. Pretty cool i think.

As for value i have not a clue if they would be worth more. If i had 2 sons i would probably pay a bit more for something like that.

Nice watch tho and interesting info.

Fun coincidence, but no value IMO. Watches will almost always sell for more as separate lots, since there are MANY more buyers for individual watches than for a pair.

Thanks for the input... I’m glad I asked. I really didn’t want to sell either, so glad to know the pair isn’t worth a goldmine that I would find tempting. :-)

I don't think it's like collecting currency where number sequence matters in regards to that area of the hobby.

There is no knowing about what will tickle the fancy of the idle rich.

While the market would dictate that each watch stand on it's own, an auction is where the price of a sequential pair could be driven up.
