Dealer name and their games

It's probably time we start calling out dealers and the games they are playing so everyone knows. Maybe even Rolex will take note and only close ones who do not make the list and keep the ones who represent the brand the best.

I have seen multiple posts about keeping watches in the safe and not on display. Several where you have to buy another product which really does not benefit Rolex, etc.

So, let's keep it short and simple. List the dealer name, City, state, etc. and the game.

I'm ok for this list. Tired of AD games. Good idea.

TRF is not a Dealer discussion forum, it is a watch discussion forum.

In fact, this thread is not a Rolex Watch Discussion topic, is it?

I’ll say my ADs treat me well. They’re all class. How about a thread with the quality ADs?

Sure - we should have 2 threads.

One for the great ADs and ones for the dodgy ones

The may be 3-4 negative AD threads on the first page of this forum at anytime of the day around here lately...that is a trend that’s needs to be curtailed IMO.

Maybe one thread for venting would help. Or it could hurt...who knows. JAT

One thing about calling some John Doe online for his bullcr@p vs calling out a business establishment that many lives depends on it. If you dare to post a business name online for some wrongdoing and potential business shut down from Rolex. I hope you have all the concrete evidence to back it up in court. This ain’t no games.

If I ever have an issue with a business, I talk to a manager and voice it. If you’re looking for resolution, it does no good to bring it up with uninvolved parties.

So you haven’t actually been rejected by an AD, you haven’t built up a relationship with one, haven’t spent $$$$$$$ already that means you get priority treatment over John Doe but have read multiple posts on an Internet forum!! Is TRF letting its standards slip by even allowing threads like this!

I'll kick it off.

A very wealthy man owns a public company that acquired another company in the jewelry business and their sales tactics are very similar to the worst that you see on here in regards to pay-to-play.

From "You need to have an established relationship with us to get X piece" to the fact that you have to buy from individual stores to get credit for it!

You're a freaking chain, man! Get an inventory system and give the customer credit per sale where it's due. I shouldn't have to pick a store and hope the sales rep stays there for life just to move up a list.

Come on. I can't be totally wrong here. This is just bad business. Even if I genuinely like the people I've dealt with, I don't like the sales practice of insisting you won't stand a chance unless you pick a specific store, a specific salesperson and then buy other items and MAYBE you'll get a crack at something you actually want.

I had nothing short of a great experience with my AD buying a Sub.

Just because you want it now, and will scream and scream unless you get it, doesn’t mean it’s bad practice or that your “entitlement” has any actual merit!

Terrible idea, exactly what is the objective? We now become a forum for unhappy customers.

Dealers might play games, but there are quite a few members of the forum who are winning the so-called "game" too. These are the enthusiasts who always bought through an AD even when you could go to any number of Trusted Sellers for an easy 15% discount.

For every person who posts about not getting the watch they wanted the first time they walk into an AD asking for any SS Sports model you have, there is another person who walked into that same AD and received the watch they wanted because they were a valued, repeat customer.

I'm neither of these people but that is my observation.

This thread is in bad taste...

Yes there are some bad dealers out there but there's also people just trying to make a living as well.

Perhaps a new sub forum to keep it separate and on topic? Similar to Buyer/Seller Who's Who?

Had a great AD experience recently with Walters and Hogsett in Boulder, Colorado. Negative reviews aren’t my deal.

Like a BBB list for watch buyers who do not want to waist time being jerked around
Or a seller feedback thread, but for ADs

Seems like a very good idea to me

You know, we do have a Buyers/Sellers Board, just for your individual experiences and comments while purchasing a Rolex watch.

Simply put, does Rolex forbid “Pay for play” as a policy? If not, I’m not surprised ADs continue. If Rolex does forbid it, the AD should be reported to Rolex and have them sort it out (including pulling status to sell).
