Can owners of SBGA387 (558pcs Ltd edition) chime in?

I’m very close to pulling the trigger on this US limited GS. How are you owners liking it after a few months now? Thanks!

My first and currently only Grand Seiko. I really like the watch and am enjoying it in a rotation. The dial is amazing in all different light conditions. Go for it.

I’ve had mine since December and love it, but still trying to get the right fit given lack of microadjustments. I tried it on the leather straps it came with but wasn’t a fan.

A friend and I almost pulled the trigger on these at the Seiko boutique in NYC. The dial is really something to behold in person as the character changes drastically in the light.

I highly recommend holding one in person and if it sings to you, buy it!

I have looked at a couple of times. Doesn’t “speak” to me like the snowflake.

As an owner of the Snowflake and now this, I much prefer the Kirazuri and it’s not because of recency bias!

Quite honestly I fell in love with the dial the moment I saw this at the boutique. My reservations were heavy because I've never had a spring drive and the power reserve subdial was questionable....but in person it was a stunner so I picked it up. Now every time it's on my wrist, it's just so good. I think the PR subdial is one of those quirks that Seiko is making as their signature....like a cyclops to a Rolex or a helium escape crown to a Seamaster/Omega etc. You grow to appreciate it.

Sub-dials in general were an acquired taste for me. But I really like the power reserve. On my Grand Seiko, it balances out the dial nicely, not leaving it empty... though GS usually have pretty interesting dials, even the simplest, plainest ones. I guess the fineness and quality just shine through. But it's a cool little gizmo and I enjoy it...

Its an amazing watch. It may be one of the few that is destined to trade over retail in the future.

Just got one last week

Love it. Don’t care for the bracelet that it came with (flashy and doesn’t taper). Put it on a strap and love it. Note the HODINKEE article, which has pics of the PM versions of this watch on a strap. Superb.

OEM. It comes with two croc straps: (1) Black (or really dark navy, hard to tell) with matching stitching; and (2) brown with blue stitching that matches the color of the dial. Both are really sharp.

The photos on HODINKEE that I referenced show the PM versions on OEM straps. Gives folks a good idea of how the watch will look on a strap vs. the bracelet.

I was disappointed w the supplied straps - too thin at the lugs, making the lugs “stick out” on my 6.75 inch wrist. Looking for alternatives w thicker padding at the lug side.

I could see that the OEM straps could be a problem. I have a 7.25 wrist, so the OEM straps work for me. If you come up with a strap that works for you, please let me know. I’d be interested in seeing the solution.

Good luck! It’s an awesome watch — I hope you find something that works for you.

That looks fantastic! May I ask what tool you used to change to the strap?

I tried one on in NYC. I wanted to like it. I just couldn't get over the baby blanket blue.

Burgeron 6767 works pretty well to get the strap on. Putting bracket back on was a little tricky but I got the 7825 tweezers.

The case has LUG HOLES!!!

Use a pusher. Heck almost all my watches have lug holes. It's almost mandatory for me!!

Yeah right. You need no tools but a .02$ push pin.

This may sound snotty, but it’s not intended as such. What tool would/do you use to swap straps on this watch? I honestly do not know.

Thanks in advance!

Use a push pin. It has drilled lugs.

The Lug holes are on the small side, but one of my cheapest tools fits while the expensive ones do not...

Here is one from EBAY that looks exactly like mine...

30 for $3.

The lug holes should at least be .8mm, so you can use a safety pin on it. There are other solutions for sure. Some use a thick needle.

The lug holes on my 5-Digit Rolex, and my Seiko MM300 are large enough to fit a push pin. The GS lug holes are too small.

Order a set of the Tool I linked from ebay and it will last you forever... 30 of them? you could lose them annually and you'd still never need another.
