16570 on nato - owners
Guys, for those of you lucky enough to own a 16570, have you worn it on a nato? How did it sit? Was it very flat?
I’m looking for a nice flat Rolex, this reference ticks the boxes but I’ve never had one |

Not as flat as the bracelet obviously, but it sits comfortably on the wrist. Nato straps give the Explorer II 16570 a more modern and completely different look. It's a nice and easy way to rejuvenate the watch.
If you have the polar in mind, however, it's tricky to find a Nato that matches the white dial as nicely as the bracelet. Maybe in brown, olive drab or grey. |

Hope yours is with lug holes! It sits nicely, the Exp II is such a thin watch for what it is.
It's always a no-no for me if a NATO struggles to pass through the spring bar/case. That was the case when i attempted to snake it through a 2.0mm spring bar. Solved with 1.78mm shoulderless bars (toxicnato) and thin enough nato straps (toxicnato). |

Second using the toxic nato spring bars. I was surprised when I got my 16570 that many of my NATOs would not easily pass between the spring bars and the case. It doesn't sound like much but the .2mm of clearance allows for many NATOs to pass through relatively easily.
That said, be careful if you constantly change spring bars (from the 1.8mm spring bars to the regular 2.0mm Rolex spring bars) to put the bracelet on and off. The toxic ones are cheaply made and I've found they do lose their spring after multiple changes. No problem with the Rolex ones, but I have a bunch of Ofrei ones as backup just in case. |

I rest my case. They never look as good as they do with a bracelet.

I love the 16570 on NATO maybe the bracelet looks better to some, but I like to switch it up. I like this one in particular.

16570 on nato - owners
I think the 16570 works great on simple (grey, olive, etc) NATOs. Despite the “seat belt” trend, more matte NATOs, like the Toxic NATO in the above pic, work better. Sometimes the shinny seatbelt material sort of clashes with the polished finish. Much more fashionable than me — James Stacey of Hodinkee and The Grey NATO podcast often posts his 16570 on NATO (usually Toxic NATO): If you want to try a seat belt NATO, Phenomenato also makes nice ones. In my view, the 16570 — polar or black — and the 14060/m are the best (modern) Rolex for Natos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Strap variety is important I think. It gives the watch a whole different feel when you put it on a nato or a rubber strap. Check our Everest rubber straps. My polar is on a black Everest rubber now and it fits and feels great!
