I prefer the CHNR and you sound like you prefer the Yachtmaster, so if I were you I’d buy the Yachtmaster

I like that YM ALOT more as well. I tried the CHNR last week. Not that special and I dont know how anyone would pay for a CHNR over a Bluesy or even a YG TT GMT.

This YM on the other hand looks special. That sunburst chocolate dial + the RG looks stunning. Get it!!!

YM Blue dial would have my preference - but happy you go against all the rest - at least you have a Watch that will stand out from the rest. Don't be a followerv- be leader.

I stopped by the AD who sold me my first Rolex (datejust and started the sicknes) They had this piece below. The Yachmaster Everrose 116621 I was blown away!

I tried on the 126711CHNR at some grey market dealers in Miami and it was very nice, but this 116621 was stunning in person and I LOVED the weight. It felt a little heavy and the dial looked gorgeous. I really liked this piece more than the 126711CHNR!

What do you all think of this piece. Anyone else have one or want one?

They do seem like they are going for less on the grey market new, but I used that fact to get him down on price (about $1000 of List and no tax) and he's willing to give me a nice amount for my 16622 Yachmaster

I have considered the same, and let me tell you that 116621 is a real beauty! I tried one on and I fell in love with it. The weight like you mention is definitely there, plus the brown dial is amazing. I think the CHNR should have had a brown dial to make it even more perfect.

However if I had the choice of both, it would still need to be the CHNR as I know the YM's bezel is very delicate, and I would really prefer the GMT complication.

I have had both as I love rose gold. It really depends on whether you like the submariner style or the gmt style. My issue is that I don’t travel and I always have gravitated towards the submariner. The only thing I don’t like is the bi-directional bezel, but both the ym and gmt have this so it’s a minimal decision maker on these models. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. The chocolate dial is stunning in the sun. Good luck!!

I have never understood that argument, other than "Rationalization" being a defense mechanism...

anyway, as for the OP - I was also incredibly impressed by the YM TT RG - it sang to me more than the CHNR - although I had issues with the steel crown (why not RG??), I thought it was an absolutely gorgeous watch..

of course, it will not have the 'social currency' the GMT does...but ask any non-wis, and those in your inner circle (many of whom probably don't care anything about watches) about a gestalt opinion on which is the more impressive/attractive watch... and I would be surprised if most didn't choose the YM...

a quick anecdote to serve as a bit of a reality dose when straying outside of the internet: not long ago, a 'friend' was wearing his SS SkyD and I had my TT ... a female stranger made a comment akin to the TT being more impressive/attractive because of the Gold... in response, he mentioned how the SS is more difficult to get and often costs more than the TT ... she looked confused (and turned off)...if you have to explain to people that what you have is impressive, then it probably really isn't... but the moral of the story is that you will only impress a group of creepy strangers on the internet if you choose based on what 0.0000001% of the population thinks is a better watch.

in the real world, people won't congratulate you for paying more for less...
well, for those 99% they have no idea of what a Rolex costs and won't congratulate anyone spending that much on a watch that has a lot less function than QZ or smart watch, or a lot less impressive looking than a $100 fashion watch.

I have the Blue Dial SS YM and the TT CHNR. They are so very different but I like them both. The one that gets the wrist time depends on where I'm going and/or what I am wearing.

You just need to decide which one YOU like best; and get that one first. And the other one will have to wait (if the want and/or need remains!). Good luck

The YM case imo is much sleeker, and a bit more elegant than the maxi case on the GMT. I tried both on and the major pros for the YM over the CHNR imo: sleeker case, flat black dial on the YM (chocolate is nice, but i strongly encourage you to check out the flat black dial), the rolex writing on YM is in RG as opposed to white in CHNR (small detail but in person looks amazing). If you're planning to keep the watch, the YM can be discounted usually.

GMT has an extra function so if you travel a lot, that's also a consideration

It is a matter of personal preference. The CHNR has important for me feature - GMT and on top is better looking watch. But vote with your heart. Good luck!

Think I am changing my vote. I am really feeling this YM in chocolate. Need to try to find one at my AD to see in the flesh, and then it may be a purchase.

I think the chocolate dial on the YM is too feminine. I would go with the black dial. But I like the CHNR better anyway

I’ve never understood the lure of the YM. As a CHNR owner I can say that I am completely satisfied. Your job is to get what speaks to you the most.

I had the chocolate dial yachtmaster and only sold it because of financial reasons. If I had a choice now I would probably go for the new CHNR but make no bones about it, the 116621 is a beautiful and classy watch and more then holds it own against the CHNR. It also wears really nicely and tapered on the wrist.

I would go with the YM every time.

It wears well and just has perfect weighting on the wrist.
