SM or Speedy?
I had some free time so I went into Omega (FL). Tried on these two beauties, they looks like great timepieces to add to my collection, but not both. Which one would you choose and why?

You won't find a chronograph with more balance, restraint, wearability and legibility than the Speedmaster Pro. It oozes class and character, and is ridiculously comfortable on the wrist. Highly recommended. The new SMP is nice, but I would stump up the extra cash and go for the Sub-slaying cal. 8500 Planet Ocean if I wanted a dive watch

Speedmaster. Classic...that's why!
Every collection should have one IMHO. |

I'd have to agree with GMT master - if you're going for the Seamaster go Planet Ocean. In my mind there's no sense buying a new SMP when the 2254 is available.

Tough call. Both great options.
As much as I love the speedy I find it hard to wind due to the small crown, chrono buttons and my large fingers. |

The model in the picture looks like the sapphire sandwich. I'd choose the speedy in a heartbeat.

Speedy Pro! Although I do prefer the black and white panda dial.

First get a Speedy Pro. Then the question becomes, for my next watch do I get a SM or something else?

To me, it depends on what you already own and what you want the new watch for. If you don't have a nice watch, the SM is a modern, do everything watch with a classic style. Not a bad option.
However, if you want one of the most iconic watches ever made (and a bargain, to boot), the Speedy can't be beat. |

I like both but if I could only have one it would be the Speedy.
I will say if I were getting an Omega diver I would get the SMP (a blue one). I find the PO unpleasantly thick and unwieldy.

There are a lot of great looking dive watches but the Speedmaster is one of the best looking watches ever made.

I have to say the Speedmaster is a gentleman's watch. I had a similar dilemma, went Speedy and I've been very happy since

I much prefer the look of the SMP over the Speedy.

SMP Chrono was my first "good" watch. But the Speedy had been a have to have watch since first seeing one that a friend had in college. Right now I can't remember why I chose the SMP. Got my Speedy several years ago.
If I could only keep one it would be the Speedy. An absolute classic and a must have for any serious collector.
