Omega Speedmaster Water Resistance Question

Hey Everyone! I’ve been trying to learn more about the Omega Speedmaster Moon Watch and was wondering about it’s water resistance because of the two pushers on the side. Do those have gaskets to block out the water or do the pushers screw in? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question haha

I believe the stated water resistance for new speed masters is 50mm (likely a very generous figure). The pushers are not screw down, and the seal of the watch is what prevents moisture from entering. Basically, you should remove your speedy if entering the water.

Omega Speedmaster Water Resistance Question

Not dumb at all. There are two camps- those who will swim with it and those who will take it off to wash their hands.
This from Omega:
“As your timepiece is water resistant to 50 metres, it is not recommended that you swim in this watch. A 50 metre water resistant watch is statically pressured to water resistant properties and not whilst the watch is moving through water, therefore it is best that you do not swim in your timepiece.”
Don’t use the pushers if you are swimming.
Also, as you are relying on the push down crown (as opposed to screw down) there is an added layer of risk in potential water ingress.
Personally I never would swim with a speedy.
