The Eagle Has Landed: Speedmaster Apollo XI 3592.50 Numbered Edition

I recently purchased a Speedmaster 3572.50 since liked the hesalite / sapphire combo but shortly after started to look for a 3592.50 as decided wanted to have the gilt movement found on its older sibling. I noticed various iterations on the dial within the 3592.50 series and decided wanted to focus on the “C4” dial (big “R” / tall and closed “S” as called by the Moonwatch Only) which came on early production pieces. I found one for sale by a Japanese seller (which thought was from the Unnumbered Edition) and decided to go for it as have dealt with that seller before and the price was reasonable. I received the watch last week and it turned out to be a 3592.50 from the numbered edition (movement serial number 48251XXX, numbered edition # A051X), which according to the Moonwatch Only had a run of approximately 1000 pieces

The watch is in pretty good physical conditions and based on my time grapher the movement should have been serviced recently based on the results (came without original paperwork or service records). Am very happy with my find and the beautiful patina the dial had developed, next step will be ordering the Omega extract of the archives to learn more about this gem!

Few pictures below of the watch, time grapher performance and information from the Moonwatch Only book; any other owners of the 3592.50 numbered edition (or any other versions) here chime in and show your beauties!

That’s a great find. Part of what makes the hobby so enjoyable the thrill of the hunt.
