Trade Question: AP vs PP
Have a trade in mind. Looking at a 5167 in return for my AP Diver plus the obligatory cash. My AP is new. So is the AP. I have the EXP 2 Polar (216570) and a Tag AR as my bangers. Deal or no deal?

No deal for me, but it's really up to what YOU prefer. I prefer the Diver to the Aquanaut, but if it's calling you go for it!

I have both, and would do the deal. 5167 is a special piece to me.

Love the Aquanaut. If we are talking about the ceramic AP Diver, I need to flip a coin otherwise it's a deal.

Really just a matter of taste, both are excellent and popular watches. The Patek is more refined and elegant and versatile but doesn't have the wrist presence of the Diver, which is unmatched on the wrist. Comes down to which style you prefer - although they're both black dialed sport watches on rubber straps they are quite different.

Yep, same here, but selling your Rolex, adding the cash for the 5167 would be great, especially as the diver is new I suppose it's the new model with matt dial and see through case back, so really WAY cooler than the 5167 IMO
The ceramic diver is awesome, but even the SS diver is IMO much cooler than the 5167, plus the SS can be worn on rubber, leather or with the awesome bracelet, for me much cooler than a 5167, if we were talking 5711 or even better 5712, then of course deal, but like this no deal for me |

I picked the 5167 because for me it's the best fit for my extremely casual lifestyle. As far as having both, I can't do that right now. The WR of the diver is better (not unless the wife kills me and dumps me overboard with the watch on will I ever go that deep). And like was said, the wrist presence on the diver is awesome.
How many of you guys were the PP on a daily basis? I like to wear my watches, not keep them locked in a safe. |

Deal. I do like the diver a lot and it may be the finest dive watch on the market. However if I'm getting a dive watch I'm not looking for fine watchmaking and for me it would have to be rolex. So that kind of rules the diver out for me. It depends what you are looking for in a watch, and what your personal coefficients are for each of those attributes.

I have worn my 5164 for many days in a row. It is amazingly comfortable and can be worn in a suit or shorts. I feel it is a great and versatile watch. One of the best!
