Yikes - I had no idea Rolex Comex were…

I had no idea, I mean none, that these watches fetch these prices.

Can this even be real?

That’s the most expensive one I’ve see.

Jacek (Tropical Watch) had one a week or so ago for somewhere around 150k.

I want one, however I am not in the position to pay those prices yet. Hopefully someday I will.

I wouldn't buy one from a seller who thinks that watch pictured is a 1665.

Here are my two 1665s, just for the sake of it :-)

frankenwatch at $700k plus? If so, that listing should be taken down.. how can C24 allow a blatant misrepresentation stand? (screenshot looks like C24?)

Correct, C24. It appeared in my stream of watches I might be interested in based upon my previous searches. I saw the price and almost fell off my chair and thought I should ask you professionals of the vintage world.

It was on the watch when I bought it from a former Comex employee.

The Hudson letter and the dial says Submariner so at least those matches.
The price is, uh, interesting...

It's very confusing as the text of the listing says this is a 1978 Comex 1680 Submariner, so is the 1665 in the title a typo, a genuine mistake or a deliberate attempt to mislead?

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/1665-...id23584036.htm

Whatever and however it happened it is massively overpriced, so maybe that is a typo as well and it should be HK$580,000 = about US$76,000.

I’ve seen a Comex 1665 recently for approx USD$240k.
Still a huge amount!

You’d think that the seller would be all over the listing details of a watch like that…

Maybe the typo is in the price … they need to drop the last digit

The price does seem high, but I would note that one did sell back in 2020 for >500k.

1680 Comex is very rare with supposedly less than 60 examples made and many dials replaced once out of Comex use.
