Posting an expensive watch

I was wondering who you guys use when sending expensive watches I have a Rolex explorer that someone has purchased but I have no other option than to send it via the post but I want to make sure it's insured to the full value of the watch so can anyone recommend a good courier please.

FedEx overnight If over $4k / 2day saver if under $4k. W/ insurance for full value. Make sure to use FedEx “original packaging” or they could deny your claim.

Fedex overnight is the safest. Insurance is around 2% of value.

Read the fine print on the insurance - I think FedEx is limited to $1k on jewelry and watches. I think I saw some other threads on here where people got third-party insurance for the shipment for about the price you quoted.

I've used DHL in the UK for up to approx £4k which I think is their limit.

Fedex priority overnight insured by parcelpro is the only good option. In the US we also have registered mail but that takes decades and is a pain in the @$$. Can't say I know much about UK options so I will bow out.

no idea. Id see who bullion dealers use. They ship gold to your house and its very high value.

I've used UPS in the UK to send overseas and have been happy with the price, value covered and service.

I think USPS registered mail is a good option. Have to package it a certain way, but I think it's a bit lower cost compared to FedEx or USPS for the same higher value items. I haven't checked prices in a while though. It will take a bit longer too. GL..

FedEx has different tiers of service.
If you become a trusted user I understand the rates change along with insurance options.

It is the way to go but it is not an overnight process to receive this status... pardon the puns:)

Seems like no couriers insure more than the value of £2500 and some don't even insure watches.

I think FEDEX is the best service level - but my experience is USA service. Your experience in UK may be different.

Rolex Service Centers in US are now using FEDEX overnight. They do use FEDEX packaging including a custom insert to shrink wrap the RSC box to a cardboard sled inside. Smartest packaging I’ve ever seen.

Of course you’ll need 3rd party insurance if the watch exceeds fedex’s limits.

ParcelPro. I don’t know about within the U.K., but for international shipments, FedEx and UPS have very low caps on the value of watches they will insure

ParcelPro is the only option I’ve found and they will insure very high value items
