I bought the white when I could and can still own whatever. To me it is the most classic and by far easiest to read.

I prefer black and white over the blue, but I'm also not a fan of blue dials. I made a thread a while back asking why the blue was so much more popular, and apparently it's just because people like blue dials (?) (still not sure on the reason tbh)

I prefer white, but own none of them. I’m more of a diver/gmt guy

The blue is a stunning watch. Period. And I think there would be very few that will disagree.
That's the reason behinds it's popularity.
The same goes for the blue DJ41.

The black is very nice, but black dialed watches of one sort or another are everywhere.
A nice blue dial is something to behold and that includes Ice blue on Platinum Rolex watches and also includes the D-blue. See the pattern

We live on a blue planet.
The sky is blue.
The ocean is predominantly blue.
Blue flowers are more rare and often regarded as more beautiful than most.
Beautiful big blue eyes are also wonderful to behold although I personally prefer big brown eyes

I love to spend money but I hate to waste it. The weird twist here is that buying the black dial will not make you happy and you will wish you’d purchased the blue so “saving” a few thousand will actually end up being a waste of money. Buy the blue and move on...

Both dials are amazing! I went with Blue... get the one that makes you smile every time you look at the watch!

Easy question.......BOTH. The blue stands on it's own, but I personally think the black is best done in WG with a leather strap. Good luck deciding.

Only buy the one that excites you. Settling turns to regret. Dollars aside.

Black vs Blue Dweller.

I was able to choose between black and blue dial for my stainless steel Sky-Dweller. Decided on black as it suited me better and went with whatever I was wearing. The blue was really pretty, though.

I didn’t know the blue dial version was so popular, but didn’t matter as I was buying to wear, not to flip. You’ve got to get what you love.

Looking for the blue I found the black dial and bought it. Not happy enough I continued looking for the blue. 4 months later got lucky and got the blue.
Bye bye black.

Am in a similar but not quite the same situation.

I know that the next Rolex i want is the Sky dweller. And clearly, the blue dial is the most beautiful to me.

So if it would only be my one and only Rolex, no brainer.

But if i look at my existing collection, it might not make sense to get blue. I already have three blue dialed Rolex watches.

Also, the premium is a big no-no for me. Would rather buy the all-WG than pay a premium for the SS/WG.

Since i still do not have an RG rolex and since i also want a choco dial, the RG Choco sky-d also appeals to me. So if i find one at a decent price, am getting it.

Save some $$$ and enjoy wearing the black!

Of course I am also totally unbiased....

This!

This might upset a good many on here, but I'm personally not a huge fan of coloured dials, at least on SS watches. The exception to the rule, IMHO is only on DJ's. However, I do fully understand why many do favour the blue dials on the Sky-Dweller.
The black dial on the Sky-Dweller really is very pleasing to the eye, certainly complimented by all of the text and the red 24 hour indicator.

The blue carries a $4000USD premium over the black here where I am and at that monstrous price, I'd go for the black!
