Given there is a whole other case of DJ that would mean in this particular AD there are more than 75 Rolex watches currently for sale

The only SS sport models you can find are Milgauss or Air King. Some of have little to no waitlists on Subs and Explorers

Something is happening, not sure if it's that they are really being pushed about not discounting by Rolex or a new way to have higher margin in the sales as company policy considering Rolex strength, probably a mix of both. This AD is the only AD in the country with more than one store, considering their inventory and traffic I would asume that they are doing great on Rolex and on jewelry (not in other brands that they have).
I went 3 weeks ago to my AD willing to purchase 2 PM watches (one for me and one for my wife), after asking for the price a senior sales associate said that now they can not make the kind of discounts that they did in the past, they do not do any discount in any piece to new customers and little discount to previous customers. He told that Rolex is sending mystery shoppers to check it.
The treatment was excellent as always, to give an idea of the kind of treatment, they provided me a DaytonaC white last year in less than 2 months… for sure they have more VIP customers than me but I asume they already have it if they want it ;-)

Something is happening and Rolex is too secretive to leak business details.. We will see after Basel I suppose.

Not necessarily true. My local mall chain AD lost Rolex and a jeweler store AD a few doors down opened up.

I know all the high end watch makers demand stores to do upgrades and what not to continue the relationship. It's so ironic. Most AD I have seen, their display inventory is not even anywhere close to 50% full. It's often sad looking.

Don’t be dense. That is an outlier, not the norm. Once you’re done grasping at straws, you’ll notice how everyone is commenting about that being a good selection, etc. Most ADs do not have that type of inventory.

Shows your character that you have to resort to name calling. You're hilarious. Ooh yes I'm grasping at straws oh great one. You said in this very thread that you may find one or two DJ at an AD and that's it. That is simply not the case. Both my local AD's have over 30 DJ in the case. This pic has over 70 watches. The AD's I have been in NYC, Denver, Las Vegas, and other cities in the last couple months all had more than 1or 2 in the case. More like 50-100+. The facts are that while yes the SS professional section of the cases are for the most part empty in most AD's, there is no shortage of pm DayDates, ladies models, DJs, pm Daytonas, OPs etc etc. Those are the facts bud

Impossible according to some in this thread although I and others tend to agree with you.

Rolex AD's have to be some of the worst around. I used to really want to buy a new Rolex but after the way I have been treated in some of these places, I don't know why I would give them my money.

So seeing some of these low quality AD's disappear is probably not a bad thing. Hopefully Rolex can concentrate there brand on quality AD's or Independent stores and start offering a better experience. Not holding my breath though.

A Norcal (in SJ) and Socal (Orange County) AD bites the dust again. I've been meaning to visit the one in SJ but looks like Rolex cut them off before I could. The one in Little Saigon I was able to visit some weeks ago and saw a typical sight of very poor stock.

Wow. Tik-Tok in Westminster just went down. They fed me a load of BS about how there is no list and you just have to keep calling and hope it’s you’re lucky day. So I’m not exactly in tears.

I’m from Maryland as well, and frequently purchased from Liljenquist & Beckstead in Annapolis Mall. I was in Edward Arthur Jewelers at Columbia Mall this past weekend and learned that they were no longer an AD. One of the associates told me that Rolex wanted them to build a $250K display just for their watches, but since Edward Arthur maintained such a low inventory due to shortages, they told Rolex no and Rolex pulled out of there. It’s definitely getting pretty tight around here for options!

We have two malls within 5 miles of each other. Bal Harbor Mall actually has two Rolex stores. You can almost see one store from the other. One I believe is Rolex Boutique and one is Tourneau. The other mall(Aventura) has a Mayors. I guarantee you Rolex will never pull these ADs. Then there's the Boutique in Design District 30 minutes away, also not going anywhere. So I have to think it's based on location, the image of the mall and store that Rolex must factor into their decision along with other criteria that goes into their equation on who is getting axed.

As an aside, one night recently my friend Vic comes down from NY and we go to Bal Harbor for dinner, while were waiting for a table he said lets go upstairs and look at some Rolexs. I said there's nothing to look at and it would just be a waste of time. He insisted on going anyway. So we walk in and we start to talking to the Lady sales rep who was actually very nice. So when she told Vic they don't have any SS watches he said "You're full of sh*t you have them right under the case". He's the type of guy who can say things like that and people laugh.
So as she's cracking up she swears there weren't any watches under the cases, so he said then they're in the back so stop the BS and bring some out.

Then he tells her he wants a President DD how much discount do you offer. The manager chimes in and says there's no more discounts on Rolex not even PM models. He looks at the manager and says you're full of sh*t too. lol. He tells him the NY store offered him the watch at 18% off for about 28K. He offered to buy the one in their case for 28K if they promised him a Batman, Daytona or Sky Dweller. The answer was no. He then said he'd pay retail price right there and then if they can bundled it with one of the SS. The answer was a feeble maybe!

At that point I saw where this was going and said I was done and said you all have fun. I left Vic verbally jousting with the two Rolex people and went down for dinner. So when Vic finally came down to dinner (empty handed) I told him that no way were you making a deal here. They get people walking in and out of that store all day everyday that could buy every watch in the store without a second thought. In fact they would have less consternation on buying out the whole store than you're having right now on whether to pay 74 bucks for that single malt(25 yr old small batch Bowmore) you want. They and Rolex do not need you nor I anymore. And that's the way it is.

Mayors in Aventura is full of sh*t and has a sh*t attitude too but again there's so much traffic thru that mall they don't need anybody as a customer. It might change in the future if things turn bad. But both malls are doing massive expansions so they obviously don't see hard times ahead and I don't foresee a change in attitude.

I steer clear of all three of these Rolex locations and drive 40 minutes up to JR Dunn where I'm treated like a person. Haven't gotten a watch from them yet but have a feeling I will, just a matter of when. I look at it as I don't need a SS Rolex, I want one but don't need one so if I get one great if I don't I'll live and be just fine. No reason to get upset about this stuff.

I was surprised Rolex spared this one for so long. RIP, nothing is missed on the Rolex side of thing. They do have a cool collection of Grand Seiko

That was pretty much the same thing they told me a Edward Arthur. They had more Rolexes in the pre-owned case than they did in the Rolex case. Hard to argue with them for pulling out. But I'm still smarting over L&B dropping. Went there many MANY times, although as usual they could never get in what I was looking for (SD43)

They can always fill it with Omega's.

Greys charge more than MSRP, not discounts.

If it wasn’t for Greys, there would be more stock in the ADs

Greys are just middle men, adding cost and subtracting value

That was then, this is now. Many, myself included thought they were my friend, my dealings left me feeling that way. But it's all about business. As shows by the huge cost from greys on many models.

I think the new richer middle class who is looking for quick flip is the one to blame.

Plus you need them to sell to, unless you want the horror of selling back to ADs or even worse ebay.
