It's a very distinctive chrono design - cool watch, looks great with the grey on grey!

Oh sorry, forgot about that.

The silicone is too grabby to wear in the winter, always catching on long sleeves. But that also makes it a great summer strap.

I'll try to get some soon but in the meantime I did find this winter wrist shot [although it doesn't show much of the strap].

My first Tudor and first post on this forum

Here's a picture of my 1973 Tudor MonteCarlo. It's my first Tudor and will not be my last!

Guess I used too much flash and the dial background appears bluer in color. It's really a nice flat grey.

I'm new to the Tudor Monte Carlo but may I say it is a stunning timepiece.
Out of curiosity how easy was it for you owners to source your individual watches?

These vintages ones do not seem very plentiful. I was searching for months before I found mine. They come up every so often and usually you have to grab it when you see it. Up until a few years ago, these watches were not really thought of and certainly not seen as a luxury or expensive watch. Owners wore then, used them and not a lot have survived over the years and some are still probably in drawers somewhere with owners not knowing what they have. But these are beautiful and a terrific piece with great movements.

After months of researching vintage Monte Carlos to better understand the variances of bezels, dials, hands, crowns and bracelets, I found mine at Fourtane in Carmel CA at the launch of Tudor in USA. I went in to buy the CHB, but walked out with the 1973 version instead!

Although I really like the new version, I'm addicted to self winding vintage chronographs. Vintage chronographs and vintage cars are my personal passions. A small group of us have been extending Cars and Coffee on Saturday mornings to include vintage watches.

Dan, Interesting "modifications to what appears to be a modern homeplate CH. As a Tudor newbie, what crystal did you use to replicate the date magnification bump on the new watch? I also like the watch band with flush link attached.

James,
The crystal is original, just had a friend add the Rolec cyclops.

The custom end links came from George (smartyjones18), a member of TRF.
