These are my 2 favourite models of the current Rolex lineup.

First place goes to the sub C for me.

The numbering on the bezel is less cluttered, it has BCLs and it has the Glidelock clasp.

I may be swayed towards the GMT IIc more if the green bits were red instead. I do like the fact that it has a slightly less blockier case.

I like the subC SS, but the GMTIIc SS is such a workhorse. ultimate tool watch and the PCLs work for dressing up or casual. ultimately, do you need the GMT function or not?

now the SubC TT and GMTIIc TT are another discussion...

This is the question that's been haunting me too. I've a Sub16610 ss pre-C, which is about as nice a watch as you need (only improved by the ceramic bezel) .... and then yesterday I had a go of the GMT 116710 BLNR with the blue/black bezel. I think I'm a convert.

Don't make up your mind till you've seen it in the flesh (well, ss and cerachrom actually). As pretty as they are in the pics, actually handling one makes a purchase close to inevitable. I'm resisting the temptation to buy it immediately, just to prove I have some will-power. But, I will be going back early in the new year to get one from my AD.

I must be one of the decenters here, because I don't mind the PCL on the GMT. It's a bit dressier, which helps differentiate the GMT from the sub-c, which is intended to be a a pure tool watch. The GMT with the day-night insert is a looker in my book. I hope to see a coke or Pepsi version at Basel this year. :-). I will say this though, if choosing between a sub-c and GMT, looks aren't everything. The glide lock is fabulous in the sub and should be incorporated throughout the line. The sub c is prob the most comfortable watches I have worn.

I agree. I dig this watch but the bezel commands too much attention and takes it away from the dial and hands.

I find the sub more aestheticly pleasing.

If I had an actual need for a dual time zone piece I would go for the GMT. But all I need is date and time so I would go Sub.

Also I have more use for the number configuration on the Sub's bezel than GMT's.

I like the GMTII, but not the ceramic one. The new one with the blue black bezel looks worse than the black one.
If they would make a new ceramic bezel with the old style font, together with the blue and red colours it would be a perfect watch. For now I choose the Sub.

I got a GMT IIC in September. I was on the fence about the PCLs but now I like them.
My all black GMT has blue lume just like my previous Sub C.

Since 2003, I had a TT blue dial sub. A little flashy for me at this age. I rRecently picked up a GMT2c BLNR. Beautiful. Love this thing. Haven't had it off yet. Cant stop looking at it...check the time every 15 mins. It could be me as I remember feeling the same way about the TT blue sub when I first got it. Hey, anything that can make you feel that good for that long.....SO WORTH IT!!!!! Rinse and repeat as often as required for your psychological betterment.

Had lunch w a colleague, he was wearing the Coke version, very nice. The current BLNR is a beauty, one of the few watches of color that I like. My default preference is always Stainless Steel with Black.
