Daytona 116509 random serial vs Z
Is there a difference between a Daytona 116509 with a random serial number and an earlier Z serial number?
I am considering buying one that has a Z serial, is there any detriment to buying it versus a later one with a random serial? Obliviously the movement will be a few years older, but are there any other differences? Case, bracelet, etc? I previously owned a 116509 with a black racing dial with a random serial, but I traded it for my Smurf. I miss having a Daytona in my collection, and I love the look of the white dial, or the meteorite dial which seems less common. Thank you in advance! |

Yes bracelet clasp will be different (still excellent) but not as solid. Also, you will likely need to service the Z serial soon, so figure in around $1k for that. Dial may be different as well.
Movement, case, triplock, pushers crystal will all be the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They changed around V serial. Z serial will definitely have the old clasp.
