BLNR Jubilee
Hi All
How long do you think it will be before they discontinue the BLNR altogether as a watch? The reason I ask is I about to pay grey for the oyster version and it’s a lot but I have paid to be on the list at an AD here. I don’t want to regret buying one grey now at such a high premium and then get one on the list I am on |

It is literally impossible to know. Given the hype and how difficult they are to find, I cannot imagine Rolex would discontinue them anytime soon, but who knows.

Life cycle for models these days seems to be 6-10 years. I would imagine we'll get another revision, version or different color scheme somewhere around that timeframe, but it's impossible to tell and totally speculation at this point.

I’d wait for the AD to come through. Don’t know how many BLNRs the ADs will get...higher volumes might surprise us all. Worth the wait IMHO.

Did you say you paid to be on a waiting list for the new BLNR?

Is it your first purchase at this AD? I wouldn’t pay the high premium on it if you’re pretty sure your AD can get you one within a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Do you mean you gave a deposit on the watch...? Or paid under the table to be on the list? (I hope not)

You will never make up the price difference you pay for a BLNR Oyster you buy today on the secondary market by either reselling it when your BLNR Jubilee comes in or by selling the BLNR Jubilee when it eventually arrives unless you are prepared to pay for shipping and insurance to the new buyer and take the risk associated with the transaction. You won't be able to sell either to a secondary market dealer that will do that for the price you pay one of these dealers. Best advice is to work on building solid relationships with your ADs and being patient.

I have given full payment for the BLNR in Jan2019. The watch never came although i was supposed to be 2nd on the waiting list. I have been put on the BLNR jubilee list. Im supposedly still 2nd on the list. Its a big AD, the director himself reassured me that il get my watch soon rather than telling me to refund my money back.
keeping my fingers crossed. My advice to you, have patience. |

I don’t mind not selling the new one to make up the difference it is if I will ever get one even though I paid to be on a list. I don’t know want to look back and think I should have bought it grey back then like I am thinking now when they were £9k

I managed to get one at RRP last November. It’s a lovely watch but I wouldn’t pay the current UK grey price because I don’t think it’s nice enough, I’m not sure that the prices can continue to remain so high (although the Kermit has and it had a longer run) and worst of all, it’s started to get too much attention when out and about which I’m not comfortable with.

And the director telling that you will get your watch “soon” rather than offering you a refund makes you feel comfortable? WOW you must really really want the watch.

Also sounds like you’re wasting your time with the AD.

If you're buying this watch from a gray now you're certainly "buying high."
Only question is how high. Topped out or can it go higher. However, right now BLNRs seem at an all time high price-wise Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't think the black/blue will ever go away? Best reasoning I heard was it took a lot of R&D and capital expenditures to make the two tone ceramic bezel. Probably still takes many hours to make each bezel. So they want to continue making them to recoup all of their costs.

I would have assumed the LN will never go away and yet it's not available and nobody knows if they will make one again. Original GMT was Pepsi, yet Pepsi was unavailable for a long time, after which it was only available in WG for significant amount of time. You could get a Coke GMT for a long time and IMO it is the best looking bezel color combination on 16710 and yet you can not get one. All I am saying is nothing lasts forever. One day black/blue will go away, whether it be when Rolex closes down, or retires GMT from the lineup, or well before that when they just decide BLNR outlived itself is unknown.
