Is It Time For A New TRF Section For Price Spec / Investment / Etc?Admins Add A

To enhance your enjoyment of TRF, do you feel it is time for a new section for:

Pricing / Speculation / Availability

Or should someone start their own private invite only Rolex / Watch board as is done for Ferrari and others luxury goods board i belong to that has a high 'signal' to 'noise' ratio?

Yes, absolutely.

I am sure this will run afoul of the Mods but most of these valuation, sales, prices, shopping strategy posts seem to violate this forum rule:

(iii) TRF IS NOT A SHOPPING SERVICE SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK WHERE OR WHO YOU CAN BUY SUCH AND SUCH A WATCH FROM, WHICH AD OR PERSON TO SHOP AT, OR THAT YOU WANT SOMEBODY TO GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU FOR YOUR DESIRES. IF YOU WANT TO BUY OR ARE LOOKING FOR A PARTICULAR WATCH OR ACCESSORY USE THE "WANTED TO BUY" BOARD ONCE YOU HAVE MET THE FORUM REQUIREMENTS.

Unless I do not understand the rule as written.

It would be nice to return to watch discussion not lifestyle choices, multi-year shopping strategies, gaming AD's against one another, whining about what a person cannot buy right now . . .

While that is wonderful, it does not solve the current General section problem imho.

No, why can’t someone start a thread in a general forum and talk about whatever they want! You don’t have to read the thread or comment on if you wish not to but to start an entirely new section because you and some others don’t want to read it will be the same folks that pounce when said topic is posted in general forum instead of newly created one! I’m a reg joe who enjoys watches and can’t afford more than one or two of my fav rolexes but stuff like this irritates me and leads to the general incorrect perception that if you own a luxury watch you’re somehow better than someone! Anyhow do what y’all will rant over

In that case I'll get right on it.

i believe we could benefit from a price speculation sticky thread as well as a "My AD says.." thread. The general section is filled up with more than enough waitlist woe threads that everyone shares the same feelings about and that pushes down the threads that I want to see like incomings and experiences and collections, etc

Or how about a Patek forum about the good old days and you can moderate it.
