Datograph Lumen

After much waiting my Lumen has finally arrived. And it sure is a stunner! Lots of macro shots to follow. The dial is an absolute chameleon.

Simply stunning. I always say that an ALS chronograph should be worn movement side up, but that dial makes it equally attractive on both front and back. Big congrats and wear it in the best of health!

I think because it was launched outside of SIHH possibly.

Thank you for all the kind words. Having read a lot about the wearability of Datos and particularly DS/TS I opted for the PT deployant clasp which fits and balances the piece beautifully.

Congrats!!!

Can you give some more feedback on it? Is it worth it? How do you compare to some other pieces? Does it feel like it’s a novelty that may wear off?

Hi John
I noticed the other week you were talking about a Lumen. Well it is early days but I don’t really see there is anything to wear off. The piece is beautiful in all conditions, certainly the dial is a chameleon but the glow is never intrusive unless you have deliberately given a ‘charge’ and possibly the two nicest looks to the dial are the pale green glow of the sub dials and chrono hand in normal light and also the pearlescent look of the lume when not charged at all.
I have gone with the PT clasp (which I think it should have as standard) and the piece is perfectly balanced. It is to the 10th of the mm the same size as my 5370P and I would say it actually wears slightly smaller that the PP. Of course the movement is killer when flipped over. I am planning a comparison thread against the 5370P so look out for that at some point.
Feel free to PM if you want any specific info.

Photo shows the pearlescent sub dials and chrono hand quite well although to the eye there is a definite sparkle to the lume.

Wonderful pictures. Thank you for sharing your excitement with us. It’s one thing to see this piece in official prospect or website and quite another when the new owner actually cherish it himself.
