I find it rather amazing that Rolex, being one of the most desirable and expensive watches in the world allows countless fake watch manufacturers to produce such a large volumne of "bogus" imitations. Rolex seems to have an extremely tight marketing system thru it's ADs, almost complete control on your watches sent to them for repair, maintenance, etc., and a very high reputation for quality. At some point this has to hurt their sales.

Does anyone know if Rolex has actually gone after numerous "fake" watch manufacturers and what the outcome has been?

I am sure Rolex S.A. fights forgery with great power. Anyway, fakes don't interest me. Real Rolex watches do!

I understand that Rolex spends more money to fight counterfeiters than the rest of the watch industry combined..

It's not easy to go after counterfeiters. You shut one down and another pops up. It would be much easier if there was a large company making all of those fakes.

It's not like Rolex "allows" counterfeiters, as you put it.

I understand that Cartier and Rolex help finance a major operation against counterfeiters a few years ago
