What I want
I just finished reading a couple of articles about the new 3186 movement with the Parachrom Bleu hairspring.
It sounds like a great technical innovation, and I would love to have that in my next Rolex. However, I don't want the new superblock case, nor do I want the heavier bracelet. I like the way things are now with the current Sport models. Do you think there is any possibility that the next iteration of the Sub will contain the new movement but none of the other changes ? I can live with the Maxi Dial, in fact I may like it better ( haven't seen one in person yet ), but I don't want the other changes. Whatchya think ? |

Well, I think with what we've seen and heard/read so far, Rolex will update the movement and cosmetic appearance of the professional line. We should be able to find out soon.

IMHO; it is very likely that all Rolex watches get the PB hairspring eventually. But it will take some time! Rolex HAD to make/invent the PB hairspring to become totally self-supplying.
When the Sub Date gets it, only Rolex knows.

Yes, that was mentioned. I am not sure it was confirmed, though.

The new bracelet is a definitely improvement though. Unlike on the GMT C, the new Sub bracelets will likely not be polished center.
