Given its demand, wouldn't it make financial sense for ADs to sell the Daytona Cs to GMs dealers for higher than MSRP than sell to it in-store buyers at MSRP?

This is going to be a long, long ride for many buyers.

I doubt it as by doing so it could have meant they engage in an activity that is in direct breach of their contract with Rolex.

I don't see why not. They may very well be selling to trusted sellers here for $14-16k and reason for which they are asking $19k

So people believe it would make financial sense for an AD to risk losing their Rolex AD status and future sales for the sake of a measly and very occasional (since they only occasionally get supplied a new Daytona 500 by Rolex) few thousand bucks?

I reckon very few would be that stupid.

It's practically TRF dogma to hate on ADs at every opportunity and pump the tires of trusted re-sellers, but in this case you'll just have to accept it's the latter who are pushing the prices up as far as the market will bear. Has nothing to do with the ADs.

Wouldn't it be easier for ADs to create a bill of sale for full retail price to a real customer and buy it right back and put it up for sale as "pre-owned" for higher than retail price? That is assuming the AD also sells pre-owned watches.
