Would be curious to know the name of the color for the brown strap you have?

What would one expect to pay for a mint used piece? Saw one today online for $23.5k - seemed low compared to DavidW and some others. Too good to be true?

Just looked up watchrecon - yeah, those are good deals if true. I've never sold a watch by myself. I assume they have to make the deal a little more attractive, when you're just a regular person.

Just make sure you check for references or contact them directly to ensure the watch exists. I think for peace of mind, I'd rather buy through David or Than tho.

I'd rather go through DavidSW as well. But $5k is $5k.

Hmm....that's what my gut is telling me. Thanks for the info.

Never bought a $20k watch from a private party like this. Got my Explorer 1 via a private party - but not worried about $5k that much. 20k is another matter entirely.

Just realised TA has a very high visker scale reading! Almost 4x harder than gold!

Looks like that account just got banned.

I'd really like to get one of these. But 25k is my limit and looks like that's not quite going to be doable. Will have to lay in the weeds with my Explorer 1 in the meantime.

Good thing you didn’t bite. Check out Lange too. They have some great pieces at 25 or less.

25k that’s below the retail price for the CB.

Why not consider a pre own Souverain which are around 25k. The PR Souverain wear very similar to the CB. A great daily watch.

The apparent disparity with the EUR prices (which are higher) is because the EUR price includes the local sales taxes at point of sale, while the US one doesn't (because they vary from state to state).

If you strip out the VAT from the EUR price (i.e. before you added 20% to ~€21k to get ~€25k list price), one could import it from the Paris boutique to the US at current exchange rates for just under $24k, before adding whatever import duty to get it into the country and whatever sales taxes to sell it to the customer over the counter (if any). If you imported it yourself you wouldn't be paying US state sales taxes, just the import duty at customs, so a similar amount overall to the US list price.
