Date or no Date

I’m on track to have a collection of watches in which none of them have a date. It’s not intentional. It’s just working out that way. This is based on what I have now and what watches are on my short list to acquire.

Rolex Sub (already have)
JLC Reverso small seconds (next purchase)
Omega Speedy Pro (next in line)

One more thing. Part of me for a brief while was wondering if people would think I just wanted to save a grand over the date complication and how instantly recognizable cyclops is to the general public. Then I came back to my senses and realized how this watch is for me and I set materialism and flashiness for the sake of other people aside. The no date is what really did it for me and I don’t regret it at all.

That'd be ideal. But on the newest series there will be an UV treated square where the wart once was.

Stop babying your brain. No date. It will train your mind to be fit and strong.

And it looks great.

I like the basics. I had a difficult time deciding between the SubC date and the Sub. My first sport watch is the Sub.

Just picked up a no date last week in Vegas. Added to my Hulk and Bluesy sub family. I like the clean dial of the no date...

I have 2 GMTs and a DJ41 with dates of course, so I prefer no dates when it comes to my Subs

Ok, why not just settle for some of each.

I have no real preference.

Personally if it is a watch for the office I need a date. Had a Tudor Ranger for a bit and decades of habitually looking at my left wrist for the date was hard to break. But I do have an EXI... such a classic watch, love the dial and simplicity. I wear in rotation, but mostly on the weekends and Fridays. Sometimes you need the date, sometimes you don't.

I really enjoy the symmetry, clean lines, and readability at any angle of the 114060.

I do, however, find myself looking at my wrist occasionally when I want to know the date.
