Mitsukoshi conversion among other things

I was inspired by another conversion project I saw here on the forum that I am hoping to emulate. I have acquired a Mitsukoshi dual and handset, a red second hand from an Alaska, and a 15 pulsations bezel that I want installed on a speedmaster professional. The only thing I don’t have is the donor watch- thus a couple of questions:

Will all of those parts fit on a 311.30.42.30.01.006? I want sapphire as hesalite scratches would drive me crazy and I like seeing the movement. If not, what reference should I buy for the conversion. I am planning on buying from Jomashop as I will be voiding the warranty anyway.

Where should I send this to have the conversion done? I don’t have a local watchmaker and I have read that the dial installation can be tricky if you don’t know what the issues are (the size of the feet apparently make it off center if you don’t adjust them properly) I want to send it to someone I can trust to do the job right the first time

Thanks in advance for the help- looking forward to this conversion as the example I saw looked GREAT

Christian

I did a conversion using a 3570.50 as was done in that post. The actual Mitsukoshi was in 2003 I believe and was based on the 1861 3570.50 but it had a slightly different ref ... that I can’t remember right now. My understanding is that it will also fit on a 861 movement. I had a local watchmaker do the conversion. A competent guy ... what also serviced the movement at the same time. No real issues for him for what he told me.
A great conversion and a real attention getter. Now that.... along with a Speedy Tuesday .... would make a great pair.

I put mine on a Snoopy strap.

The issue with silver hands is the lack of visibility. I’m taking mine back to my watchmaker and to get him to put the white subdial hands back on.

That is exactly the same reason I went with the white chrono hands as well when I did the conversion. Function won out over form for me. And it looks great.
