Sam I like your idea fora SKY-D section.
Been toying for a while now with getting this reference some time in 2019. Like you I am torn between different metal configurations. But I do know it will be other than the SS issue. Thanks for the new section.

Hey guys,
Can anyone help me confirm the ff: 1) The ring command bezel on my steel skydweller feels a bit 'loose'. Its like there's a spring inside pushing the bezel upwards and when i push the bezel down, it feels like there's a 1mm allowance. Anyone experience the same problem? Should i go to the authorized dealer? 2) The ticking sound of the steel skydweller is noticeably louder than the gmt and the datejust. Anyone else can confirm? I thought the ticking sound of anrolex was so quiet it could hardly be heard... 3) The rolex website doesn't indicate thr precision of the skydweller (+2/-2 sec / day), does it mean my skydwellers precision is more than +2/-2 sec? I actually take good care of my watches and have never dinged or bumped them so i'm curious to know ur experiences.. Thanks for those who comment! |

Hi all I am new to this forum and as of 2 days ago the owner of a WG Skydweller black dial. New old stock from an AD in New Zealand. I know it was discontinued in early 2018 and was originally released in 2014. But when I look up old reviews from the likes of Hodinkee it seems that the WG Black dial was originally released on the black leather strap. Did the full WG bracelet version have a shorter production run does anyone know? Cheers |

actually just looking at previous posts- I can pretty much confirm that the "ticking" is louder than the GMT version when I hold it to my ear.

You are correct, this version was released on strap first. A lot of us assumed it was going to be a strap-only version...but not so. Then it just started showing up on bracelet, along with the other two versions that first debuted on straps. So, it was pretty much a mix and match thing. I don't know if I would call it a run, exactly. As far as I know, it was available for the same length of time the strap version was. My two cents, anyway. |
