Everyones entitled to an opinion as long as we respect other points of view. At the end of the day, "its a watch" not life or death situation or decision.

The thread did get a little heated but to be honest I learned alot about Omega Speedmasters because of it I actually want one now!

One great thing about TRF is that there is a broad depth of knowledge here. We start talking about Speedy's & NASA and ArmyPilot posts about them based on his actual experience with the agency....quite cool

Err buddy Trurolexer...somewhere in Orchi's little "555" booklet...it was written that..."it does take a BIG man to say he is sorry..."

ahem...Orchi can't read too well without the glasses...err...now where has Orchi wrote the other sentence in the booklet...that dearest late Mom taught Orchi many moons ago...whenever she wanted Orchi to behave like a good boy.

Arrrrhhhh...here it is..."it takes a BIG man to forgive n forget..."

No worry brah. The moonwatch is as historical as the sub. Each have legendary histories and specific roles: One for space, one for deep ocean. Get both and you're covered.

I must admit the tread you started was entertaining to read.

Hey, TR - don't beat yourself up. I've just re-read your original Speedy thread and I think that by raising the subject in the way you did you generated some interesting discussion. I personally wasn't offended by your thread.

Ok, so it turns out that your hypothesis about there having been some 'contractual' arrangement between Omega and NASA was incorrect. When you think about it, I don't think that NASA would go for anything other than the best available and it (NASA) would never be 'bought' by any equipment supplier. But your thread doesn't diminish you as a person and, in so far that some TRF members were upset by it, your apology is a noble gesture.

Your thread certainly added to my education about how NASA assessed the space watches - thanks for raising the subject.

Stan.

TR, no sweat! I applaud you in your humbleness. I hope I did not seem too out of line in my replies to your post, and if I was, I too apologize. I was already a little spun up due to a thread that had been started earlier in a different section of this forum by someone posting that we never actually went to or landed on the moon. When these conspiracy theorists bring this up, I take it as a personal afront and disrespectful to my country, the thousands of individuals that were involved with the project, and most especially those astronauts that gave their lives in the national pursuit of the goal of placing a human being on the moon. Take care and keep on posting.

It's all good, TR! It was very decent of you to post this apology and I do appreciate the effort - now let's put this all behind us.

In my mind never thinking to disrespectful to you country, to NASA or the astronouts. I very respected 'em as heroes not just for America but for all mankind in the whole world. So sorry for my fool statement once again.

Best Regards From Deepest Heart, TR.
