Guess what I've gone and done

Ok I must be mad, all this talk about only buy from AD's, well guess what I've done???????

I had a wonderful deal on my M series Sub from one of our TRF members, A1 in every way, but guess what, I was niggling, why did I flip the SD, not because its an SD but because I had the delight of being the first to wear it, bought by myself from an Official Rolex Retailer from my own country.

I was not 100%, don't misunderstand, the Sub meets all my requirements, it was just, well someone else had purchased it from Greece. I had not made the purchase. Man, it was niggling at me. I've always purchased my main watches myself from an AD. I woke up in the morning looking at it and saying, baby theres something missing between you and me, theres no connection. To which my wife would quickly turn around with a start and say WHAT. I then muttered "I'm thinking about something else dear and make my excuses.

So today I took a short train trip to a couple of AD's went into the first one to actually get my Sub appraised for insurance and as I walked in the manager said Mr Hill, we have just had a new Sub in are you interested. At that moment, time stood still, I could just here the wind blowing. What was happening, I found myself sat at the sales desk. Phone calls were being made, My sub was coming off my wrist. A loupe was handed to me as I examined the stores Sub. Next a card machine was placed in front of me. Was that my card being swiped, why was I punching some numbers in. The manager was shaking my hand, and as I walked out of the door, time came back to normal.

I had flipped the Sub and purchased a BNIB M Series Sub with CRB on rehaut the works.
My name on the warranty card, my receipt, the first to touch it.

I'm home now, the watch is still in the shop bag, as it left the store. I'm in a daze, yet deep inside I have a very warm feeling.

If its not rude to ask, how much did that warm fuzzy feeling cost ?
Never heard of anyone flipping one brand new M series Sub for another.......Worth every penny I expect...

I understand you very well, Jon! I would probably have done the same thing!

Nothing beats the feeling of buying BNIB from an AD!

Congrats, and wear your Sub Date in good health!

I took a hit on my Sub, but this will be my one and only, and it had to be right. I got a little gesture on the price of the new one, and I mean little.

There is nothing quite like a Brand New rolex from an AD. Especially if its a good AD.

Congrats...

I hope to get that NIB feeling some day. Both of the Rolex purchases were used. Enjoy and great story!

Not disasterously bad, I hope. I mean, M series vs. M series.

BUT- Now now are the original owner of a brand new Sub, with your name on the warranty card and all the rights & privildges associated with it!

Jon. As long as you're happy with it in the end, that's what matters most. Wear it in good health and get some decent pics up!!

I know that feeling as well. I have the opportunity to trade my BNIB white daytona for a BNIB black grey one. But I prefer to buy a new one from a AD with my name on the warrantee.
I know, it just doesnt feel right even though the watch is the same, its more emotional than anything.
