Green hand vs Red hand on GMT's
Having seen both I was wondering which one do you all think looks better ? I am leaning toward the red hand, I think it is more visible against the black dial rather than the green hand on the new GMT.
Thoughts ? |

It's a matter of personal preference, but personally I prefer the subtle green hand.

I like both but give the edge to the red hand. A nice splash of color and more legible!

RED is certainly more traditional. I agree the GREEN is a bit subdued....but I like it!

I have both. The red hand on my Black Dial Explorer II and the green hand on my GMT IIC.
Hmmmm... Think I like the red hand better. Easier to read. The color on the green is beautiful though. |

I just love the 24 hour hand. Note the GMT's and EXP II's in my collection. Both colors compliment the watch. And.....if Rolex goes back to red, the green hands will be "THE 50th ANNIVERSARY MODEL" in SS, TT, gold. I know, I know only the 18k model is the 50th Anniv. edition, but it them what sells 'em will blur this distinction.

I think the green looks better but using a GMT all the time I appreciate being able to read the second time zone as fast as possible, so for practicality I like the red.

I have both and love the red. I'd love a red and white "barber pole" hand though!

I think the red looks best, but it's what YOU like that matters most.

I'm partial to the red and specifically ran down a new Z series for that reason. However, other than the polished center link on the bracelet the new GMC II 116710 has a lot of improvements over the 16710, ie ceramic bezel, parachrom hairspring etc.

I think a RED hand stands out better against a black or a white background.

Allow me to do a little hijack here. I chose the 16710 for the red hand, the red&black bezel because I think it really looks sharp with the black dial. If the Pepsi had been offered with a blue dial I think that would have been the sharpest GMT ever.

it does...that's why the green hand is cooler...it makes the triangle at the end of the green arm appear to be floating around the edge of the dial whereas the red hand is screaming "look at me."
