GMT II and Sub

The GMT II and Submariner seems to look almost identical, except for the winding crown. Does anyone have a side by side picture of the two? Thanks, Hien.

Well, if you are referring to the "old" GMT II 16710, IMHO they do not resemble eachother. At least if the GMT II has a Pepsi or Coke bezel insert. The GMT II with a black bezel insert could look like a Sub Date from a distance, but then again the red GMT hand gives it away as being a GMT.

And the ceramic bezel of the new GMT II is so special that it makes it look like no other Rolex. Also, the shiny centre links of the new GMT IIc are different from the matte bracelet of the SS Sub Date.

Here is one of Mike's great pics to show the difference between the "old" GMT II 16710 and SS Sub Date:

I've got the one on the right, and now I want the one on the left. I love my Gmt2, but sometimes it seems a teeny bit more 'blingy' as compared to the sub. It must just be bezel that makes that difference.
Plus I think it may be a tad easier to tell time at a glance on the sub without the extra hand.

Nice comparison pics !!

Well, all sport Rolexes are in some way lookalikes. And in some other way very different.
Beside the different bezels, the biggest difference between these two models is in second time zone hand, that you can find only in GMT-Master and Explorer II.
