I’m with you guys - I grabbed a 14060m two liner back when you could pick one up for a very reasonable price. Still one of my favorites as I’ve never been able to reconcile the case/dial changes on the 6 digit reference and I really love the aluminum bezel on this particular no date Sub. Classic execution but wearable every day.

Thanks Mike. It is a full set and had the added benefit of a 2013 RSC service. Wear yours in good health and make sure to let us know when you get that Hodinkee event set up. That would be pretty cool.

Sorry for my ignorance but what do you mean by 2 liner? I’ve also seen 4 liner referenced. I know M is tied to serial number...

I ask because I just bought a 2005 16610 Sub Date F serial number last week. All box and papers, love it. Just trying to learn... thx

Thanks very much for your response Mike! I think $7k in that condition is more than fair; I'll get over the sticker shock (I saw one sell for $7.5k recently).

The 14060M is my favorite sub. Added the glide lock clasp to it, it is now the most comfortable watch I own. The best of old and new.

I sold it and bought a new ceramic GMTII. Will definitely be keeping my eye out for one... I think it would be cool to put it on a rubber strap.

2 liner and 4 liner refers to the text on the lower half of the dial. The 2 liner just has Submariner and depth rating, whereas the 4 liner has Superlative Chronometer and Officially Certified as well.

I also have a 14060M Z serial (2007) last of the two liners! A wonderful watch and without doubt a true classic.

I did this. Soon after I discovered the 5DGT SD w/lug holes, and found it the best of both worlds (for me).

A weight presence married to simple dial.

I've got the same size wrist as you, and the SD wears well. Check one out on the wrist, sans cyclops is a good thing. It's a wonderful persona evolution of the sub.

I love mine 2 liner and I would wear it everyday but I switch it out with my Monaco. Why wouldn't you wear it everyday? I paid around $5K a year ago for mine from Crown&Caliber with no box or paper.

Although the ceramic is more robust (e.g., bezel, strap), it was a little too big for me. I find the 14060m to be elegant, classy and a perfect size. It's a modern day classic that I'll have in my collection forever. Cheers, Mike K

2-liner is the perfect watch for me. No knock on the 114060, they are just different watches (or about as different as two watches can be while still basically being the same watch to the average person). Been my daily wearer for over a year. The prices in these have really shot up over the past year so I’m glad I bought when I did.

Just took possession of this 2005 14060M F-series today....first Rolex in 30 years having sold off my old gold DateJust many years ago. one-owner, mint, RSC service 2017 with 2 year warranty, full kit. Paid 6700 all-in.
