Changing weight of the WG Daytona 116509
You could say this is my favourite watch !
I purchased my first PM piece a few years ago, an M serial from 2009...weight with all links was 205 grams. I then purchased the exact same watch but a G serial from 2012 with the newer clasp ....weight with all links 222 grams. I have now purchased the exact exact same watch, a random serial from 2016 (new old stock)....weight identical to the G serial at 222 grams. This shows that the upgraded clasp weighs a hefty 17 grams. M Serial: G Serial: Random Serial:

No, they are 3 different dials, albeit the same.

Different hands and lume. Nowhere near the same!
Just making fun of the subtle differences. Interesting data on the clasp. I'm sure the added weight helps with balance. A properly fitted PM Daytona feels great on the wrist. |

The new style clasp is much better than the old design. Blades and all.

You have old green or blue lume now ?
Did you know green is actually a better choice? Had both superlumi and chromalight versions and noticed with the SL the numbers actually glow a little blueish during bright daylight, CL doesn't do that or much less. Big difference ! SL: |

The first 2 were green, the new one is of course Chromalite Blue.

I prefer the green lume purely due to the color but have no choice on the new stuff. Green is easier for my eyes to pick up in low light.
The new clasp wins for me hands down. |

I guess the new blue lume also weighs more?
Nice exposition on the clasp. Did I miss something in your process? Did you also weigh head-only for each of the watches? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Was wondering why my Z-serial 116509 has a thinner clasp than the WG GMT and Sub.
Well then, now I know. Nice bezel update as well. |

Did the bezel really change between the thinner clasp 116509 and the latest version that Gary has now? I can't see any difference between these 2 WG bezels.

The new gold bezels are filled with epoxy flush with the top. The former ones weren't flush and the paint wore off rather quickly.
