Much prefer the black as a two tone or all gold over the blue dial. Very classy and understated.

I had it in the 90s pre-CSub, of course. It was a great piece to bring dress and sport closer together. I wore it on weekends and with a suit during the week, alternating with a DJ.

I am much more of a Sub guy than a GMT guy, but for some reason I don't like either of the TT Subs. If I were going to go this direction with a sports TT, I would get the GMT TT in YG/SS.

tt blk serti sub is kind of different. was originally blue, but picked up a black bezel for it. This was a factory option in it's time, as the serti dial was available on either black or blue tt subs.

The black TT sub (a 16613) was my choice for my first Rolex 10 years ago. It is my only TT model and it still gets plenty of wrist time. If you like and appreciate the TT black Sub, you should get it.
The black TT sub is sharp, and it can be flashy, but perhaps not as flashy as the Bluesy. I have 2 SS models and 2 YG models but I still enjoy my TT black sub. I'm looking to add a second TT model (either a Bluesy or a TT CHNR GMT) to even off the collection but the black TT sub will always have it's place. Good luck!

I have had both at the same time... Meaning both
TT Subs, Black dial and blue dial... While I did like the black dial TT Sub I also had a BLNR GMT2 at the time and decided to move that one along ... Look at my Avatar! The Bluesy TT Sub remained and is probably the only TT Rolex I would have and enjoy wearing... No wrong choice here , you either prefer black or blue... They are both versatile. |

Have you ever had the PCL’s polished? I love the look but worried over the much discussed gold PCL issues with scratches and swirls.

Beautiful watch. University of Central Florida colors. Back when I was shopping for a grad school, part of me hoped to get into UCF just for an excuse to buy this as a graduation present.
My school's colors ended up being red, white, and blue. Unfortunately, the Pepsi just doesn't sing to me like this Sub. I'll likely try to track down a BLNR as a graduation present to myself later this year. |

I really like the 16613. I almost bought one several years ago. I kind of did buy it but only for a short time to help out a friend in need. Sold it and gave him the difference between what I paid him and the sold for price. It looked great on my wrist.

IMO the combination of Black and Gold can be too brutal/gangsta which is why the Bluesy is more popular. It’s a softer contrast with blue and yellow being a nice pairing. Black and gold would be more versatile in terms of color matching though.

I had one, and it's a beautiful watch.
Unfortunately, it was too blingy for me and I couldn't pull it off, so I ended up selling it for a SS SubC. |

Hi, I've been able to keep bracelet swirls to a minimum by wearing the watch carefully and in rotation. No polishing needed. -Rick.

I tried this tt sub just a few months ago because they didn’t have any SS for me (surprise surprise). I don’t think it’s a bad looking watch, but it didn’t stand right. The blue looked better in my opinion and I was waiting for the gmt II root beer as well. They also showed me a tt gold gmt and I thought the gmt looked better. They are all great looking watches. But yellow gold is really not my color though.
If you tried it and like it then go ahead. But don’t buy just because they have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I feel it really depends on your image and style. I am a younger guy that dresses in mostly darker tones and the bluesy looked out of place on me. It was too flashy. Meanwhile my TT black Sub goes perfectly with my style and I love it.
Try both on, if you can, with clothes that you will wear with the watch. Get the one that you think looks better. Goodluck! |

Concerns i had was that it gets dinged and swirls pretty fast and takes quiet a hit if you'd want to flip down the way. Otherwise it's been a fantastic watch thus far. But still, be sure it's the one you really want. |
