Erratic timekeeping

I have a ladies Datejust in for service. As received, it keeps great time face up, but in all other positions loses 4-10 minutes per day. Has anyone else found such variation and what was the remedy, please? Balance ends hake is OK and endstones seem set correctly..

You would need to provide a lot more information before we could begin to start looking at what the issue could be. What movement does the watch have? What is the amplitude in the flat and hanging positions at full wind and again at half wind?

If you are asking a forum for help servicing a Rolex then the owner is not receiving the correct quality of repair.

I would respectfully suggest that you cut your losses, reassemble the watch and send it to a Rolex or an accredited watchmaker.

If that is what's happening then I wholeheartedly second this motion.

Could be anything from a bad hairspring, unpoised balance, bent balance staff, worn or dirty jewels, etc. Might even just need a cleaning.

I was merely asking if anyone had noticed such variance. The watch is now serviced and running between -2 to +4 secs per day.
