Timing Analysis for Explorer II. What is it showing?
The local AD recently hired a Rolex Certified watchmaker.
Since my Explorer II gains around 8 seconds a day I took it in to see if it could be regulated to be a little more accurate. A timing analysis was done with the results posted below. The conclusion I was given was that it was running within specs so nothing should be done. If anyone could explain what exactly the results are showing, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

What it tells me is Bobby doesn’t know how to use the form, or he chose not to do a proper observation over a 24-hr. day.
I can only surmise from his strike-through of the 24 hr. table - and his margin note “Adj.” - that he may be trying to show an “after adjustment” set of readings on the left-hand table. If so, then the original readings are in the right-hand 0 hour table. If my presumption is correct, then your watch is now operating within COSC. My question is why didn’t you ask Bobby or the manager to explain? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It's a worksheet. Timing at full power measured in 5 position. Then timed again after 24 hrs at approx 50% reserve. You have the delta and mean.

I’m far from knowledgeable in this area but I’d interpret it as indicating that the post adjustment gain is smallest in the crown-down position. Try resting it like this when you sleep at night and see if it minimises the gain...

Thanks for the replies.
ROLLiWORKS - Really enjoying the Aventures in Band Repair thread - Amazing work. Glad you guys are around. Rested the watch crown down overnight. Gain over 24 hours was little over a second. Big improvement. |
