How fast is too fast?

On average how much time lost/gained is considered normal for a ceramic GMT 116710?

Mine seems to be gaining 5 seconds per day, I've been checking it for the past 3 days and its up 15 seconds fast.

This doesn't bother me much, but I imagine after some time this would significantly affect its time telling ability.

Is this normal?

If it is not bothering you why post your question, first it would depend on your testing method and position of watch when testing and mainspring power-reserve.When Rolex re-tests the movement in its case after returning the bare uncased movement at the COSC which is a AVERAGE -4+6 seconds to get its certification. Its tested again in 5 positions and say in two of those positions one dial up was say +5 seconds, crown down -6, other positions +3+2 +1 seconds, average them out all could be to the Rolex -2+2 spec.So any watch can lose or gain outside of Rolex +2-2 spec and average out overall after say a week of testing and still be regarded as in tolerance.

I probably wouldn’t bother. I prefer opening my time pieces as little as possible.
How old is it?

The ability of the watch to tell the time is entirely dependent upon the operator.

For practical reasons personally i would be much happier that it's running fast as opposed to running slow. That makes it easier to work and live with.
I recommend setting the watch a minute slow initially and worry about reseting the time when you have to change the date. Or sooner as required.
When it comes time to have it serviced then ask the watchmaker to adjust the balance then.
Until then, let sleeping dogs lie.

Because as of now it does not, but if it keeps adding 5 seconds per day, eventually it will bother me.

Sounds like a plan! Will do, and thank you!

Agree. Would not open a watch for +5.

At +11 I drew a line; even then I'm not certain it was worth having it adjusted by RSC.

Our expectation of precision varies. I’ve never been attacked for arriving 5-minutes early for a meeting.

Now if we were invading an enemy island, and I barged onto the beach 5-minutes early, this would be a different outcome.

So unless one is timing their day so precisely that seconds matter, then several seconds here or there is not an issue.
