Crystal replacement
Guys,
I am about to take my watch to my friend who is an independent watchmaker that I bought my used 114270 Explorer from for a service. I am going to regulate the watch, service the movement and maybe a little bit of polishing. My question is, I’d like to replace the crystal too, it shows some signs of wear on a bright sun light, is there any disadvantage for replacing the crystal? Is there any problem in doing so at an independent watchmaker, considering he can source original parts? Would you polish your watch at an independent watchmaker? I’ve seen his work, he’s really good and he’s dealing with a lot of Rolex’s... I’d like to hear some inputs about that! Thanks in advance! |

Just make sure you use a Rolex crystal for the swap. If you don’t Rolex won’t service it without replacing if you ever need to send in.

I trust my friend, he said it’s genuine... just to make sure, it is possible to source them not from an AD right? I mean, he’s not lying about it? |
