Seiko 6309 - 7049

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum.

I have just purchased a seiko diver 6309 - 7049 in really nice condition. This particular diver has a nice bright red dial, rubber band, black bezel and the usual cushion case that the watches are known for.

What i would like to no is this red dial rare? i have googled and can only find these divers with a black dial. Anyone seen a red or own one?

All help appreciated.

Warren

Well Pics are mostly appreciated... But I've seen a lot of 6309-7049. I myself wore one for about 2 yrs and a half and now I'm wearing a bit newer 6309-7290.

Do you mean red, not orange?

I'm quite sure there where no red-diald ones made.

Pics will tell

I wasnt able to post pics because i only received the watch this moring. Pics will be online tomoz.

Just a weird question. I googled the serial from the back of the watch 771465 and there is another watch currenty on US ebay with the same serial. Now i thought serials where unique? am i right? or will there be multiple serials for the one watch?

The reason im curious, this watch
1. has a Bright red dial with all correct markings from the era 1977
2. it looks brand new, not a mark.
3. why would someone try and copy a $150 watch?

here is a link to the watch when i bought it

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....=STRK:MEWAX:IT

here is a link for the other 6309 with the same number on the back
http://cgi.ebay.com.my/6309-7049-MEN...item27ae3d5057

Anyone have any idea why this could be?

And does anyone know if they make a replica 6309?

Come on guys, i'm contemplating sending it back.

has anyone seen fake cushion case divers? If the watch is real it has been restored which is ok, but i want to use it as a diver and dont want it rusting out. The only thing that stumbles me is 2 seiko's of the same design having the same serial? anyone have any input??

Also, is the 6309 movment smooth? i have a new diver which is smooth but this 6309 you can hear the movement spin when you move it. this normal?

Thanks in advanced

Well the movement is real... my friend.. 6309 - 7049 are the reference numbers. 6309 is the movement. 7049 is the reference...
