With the blue dial and the 100 meters this watch is now close to perfect.

I would add lume to make it perfect.

Congrats
Beautiful watch.

lume is imo ugly on such a watch. Imo it's more a dress watch than sport watch... I would prefer the 5711 had no lime
It's imo OK on a sub but for most watches it's not something I like

Glad they didn't f*ck up the dial with a date :-)

Status Update: Another shower then went on-road bicycling yesterday. Also caught some light from last night's Halloween festivities. So far she's running about +7 sec/day and wearing her 24/7. Still very comfy to wear and admiring the beautiful movement.

Update: Decided to try a blue leather band (cheap $28 Bandini 30mm from Amazon) and really love the look. My Muse / wife also said it looks great. i did have to Photoshop the below pic as the leather does not 'cover' the squarish openings by the case. Guess i'll need to visit a Bvlgari boutique to see the strap options as there's nothing on their website at all about different strap choices :(

Interesting thing is it's the weekend and we plan to do some ocean stuff. So went to change to the Rolex Sub on black Everest rubber strap... and just couldn't do it(!). Even with cheap blue leather band the Octo she is too visually seductive. And yeah, i know this is gonna sound weird yet when wearing the Bvlgari Octo i somehow feel.... younger.

Accuracy-wise she is within +/-1 second a day, yet regulation is off as she is +11/sec per day.

Pics without and with Photoshop.

Congratulations. This is encouraging (thank you, TRF!). Recently, I have been considering this watch.

By coincidence, every 5 years or so Bulgari catches my attention. Aesthetically, I think this version is the most successful synthesis yet. Did LV's design house intervene to make it resemble the original Gerald Genta version instead of Bulgari's initial BDSM treatment?

Having taken it to the sea, can you please share how you felt being in the water with it? Recenly, I got a lightweight sports watch (an "Octa" even though the case is round) to replace my trusty sub, but have been told to not swim with it. So it can't be a real replacement for my relatively heavy but very robust sub.

Enjoy your Octo and its interesting lineage.

Thanks... and loved the BDSM comment LOL. Yeah, I feel they really got it right here. It's like some cars look great from the front, maybe that special angle, yet this looks great in all angles. Comfy, plus the 100m WP rating, captivating blue dial with indices that makes for excellent visibility. My eyesight tends to like a bit of contrast.

Love the super sturdy Sub, and Panerai, and... yet the distinctive shape and brushed / polished bits reeeeally works well.

(Said in good humor) Painstaking years in visual design, dumb luck, BDSM beaten away, whatever... this is a superbly stylish piece of record-earning Horology. I'll let you know about feel when I get back from the ocean. Guess that means I gotta change back to stock bracelet.

As for the round Octa, what's the WP rating?

100 m WP rating! Isn't that what early subs had? That should be good enough for swimming. Thank you for sharing. Wear it in good health.

Congratulations! Just recently had the opportunity to try on the blue dial and was blown away. Most unique piece of Horology in its price point. Enjoy!

Enjoythemusic, I have previously mailed Bulgari and was told price of straps is 380eur per black alligator strap (they have matte and shiny). There are also variants in black calf leather and alligator leather in green, blue and brown with different finishes. I assume this price was without buckle.
