Any love for G-Shocks in the Rolex Community?

Hi fanatics, just wanted to gauge if there is much love for G-Shocks out there. I haven’t had one for many years but it was my first watch way back in the mid 70’s so I have always been drawn back to them in some way.

Recently stumbled on one that felt right for a weekend yard beater. For a $200 dollar watch I have actually worn it on occasions mid week to work.

Anyway interested to see if you guys have any in the closet.

Yeah been looking at buying this exact one for quite some time now never get round to it.

Is it huge to wear? Think it’s 45mm if I remember rightly.

Love them. I have 2. You can wear them anywhere. They are different and very well loaded with information.

Virtually the same as my 6 digit sub but way lighter.

From what I've seen they get a bit big if you do the full steel CasiOak mod.. Which anyone who has one has to do.

I have this piece, it’s called the Casioak as a nickname in reference to the same shape as the AP Royal Oak.

It’s goes out of stock quite often, and sells on eBay for more than RRP.

I'd love to be able to wear one but it would look like a tracking device on me. There are plenty on the forum who like them!!!

I've had a DW5600 square since 1986. I think 4-5 total as the battery died or they broke from use. Still have the first with the 901 module!

He's specifically wondering whether folks in the Rolex community like G-Shocks. Tricky to find out without asking the Rolex community.

I'd probably grab a CasioOak if one of the prettier colourways was in front of me at retail price. Really, though, my mail G-Shock interest is in the Full Metal 5000. I'd seriously consider it, but I want to see one in person first to get a feel for how it sits on my elfy wrist. G-Shocks generally aren't kind to smaller wrists...

Love them have a square DW 5600 solar on a material strap with screen guards (Jays & Kays)

Also very tough and smaller Casio F-91W

Wear these when travelling to less safe countries or areas or simply out of respect for the average salary in developing countries

I have 2. They are fun. They are also a bit difficult to obtain, so Rolex owners can relate.

Any love here for the "G?"

I think there's a thread in this section devoted to them. I may have posted one or sixty pics of some of mine

Love my GShock.

Fond memories of wearing it on our honeymoon...travelled to 9 countries over 10 weeks. It was the perfect travel companion watch for me.

Wore it the night my wife went into labor with my son.

Priceless memories that make this watch all the more special for me. Plus, love the alarm feature :)
