you saw this most likely. Same dial as the OF model and it's WG, just not a ceramic bezel. Without a ceramic bezel though, i don't like it as the dial looks too washed out.On ceramic however i love it. Still prefer the OF version though to a hypothetical WG OF version on a bracelet.

Yes! That beautiful all white gold piece is in the current line up. It's stunning. I do like it better with the black bezel though. really frames the dial nicely to have the black bezel around it. It adds some really nice contrast without cluttering up the design.

Great writeup as always, Chadri! Although you say otherwise, it sounds like the WG/OEM OF may not be a long term hold. I'm surprised you find the weight of gold a slight negative on your Daytona, but perhaps the heavier head combined with what I expect (I've never tried on OF) is an especially light OF strap is too much of an unbalanced feel.
I think every year Rolex will come out with more ceramic-bezeled Daytonas, so we'll see what 2018 brings.

Really nice looking!
Even though I don’t have my ss Daytona yet but I had an opportunity to buy the OF and jumped on it. It’s in the box waiting for the ss Daytona!

So heres the thing. It's not so much that it's a negative, it's more so that compared to the same OF bracelet on a SS case/clasp it's just not as good an all around configuration. Let me put it this way. Both watches are absolutely amazing. Can't say it enough. It almost feels like they should be reversed though. Like the WG version should have come on bracelet, and every once and a while I switch it to OF. While the SS should have come on the OF and every once and a while I can switch it back to bracelet. Does that make sense? |

Nice write up my friend. both look very similar besides the dial...in person is there a significant difference between the steel and WG? Id expect the white gold to be blingier and catch the light much better?

In post #11 I discussed in detail the physical differences between the two watches (which there is), but to answer your question, the WG doesn't really POP necessarily more than the SS, but it does carry more wrist presence and dial definitely pops more than the black dial. So it's not so much about the precious metal that makes it stand out, it's the subtle case differences and amazingly attractive dial.

The bracelet/watch pairings perhaps have more to do with marketing and what’s already been offered than what makes the most “sense.” Regardless, there are a LOT of great Daytona choices and no wrong answers.

I have to be honest. Neither one of those watches is going to fly under radar, if the other one doesn't. You're very fortunate to own two Daytona watches and to have the luxury of that distinction, though. "Let's see. Do I want to look like a million bucks today, or do I want to look like a billion bucks?"

compared to being on bracelets they're both pretty much under the radar. but yeah, as i mentioned before the fact that the WG Daytona is a precious metal has very little to do with how it "pops". It has more to do with the slightly larger wrist presence and the steel (silver-ish) dial w/contrasting sub dials. |

Sorry to say, but i just wasted 15 min. of my life by reading this post. At least for me, it is hard to find justification for spending so much time and effort in writing article about nothing.

Chadri, I wrote my subjective opinion to your thread. However, your response is very rude and unacceptable. I hope that admin will give you a proper warning for using such language.

Fantastic post, Chad as always my friend
As you know, I've had my white dial 116500 for about a year now and I'm finally venturing into different strap options. My AD claims she can get me an OF but I have to get the fit right because she can't send it back once ordered. She confirmed she has the sizing tool available, but do you have any words of wisdom or advice as far as sizing is concerned? I like my watches to fit snugly too but my only experience with rubber straps on a Rolex was a Rubber B (with tang buckle) on my 114060. I definitely don't want any play and would like the clasp centered as much as possible on the underside of my wrist. I believe in the past you recommended a size 4 for both ends (4x4) on a similar Everest set up on deployment if that helps. Anyone with an OF is free to chime in |

Respectfully, I don't think anyone asked for your opinion. Personally, I found YOUR post rude and unwarranted
