Great photo.

My doctor has a blue dialed YM and I find myself staring at it every time I go for a visit.

If comfort is your thing, the YM is DEFINITELY more comfortable than most of the modern sport Rolexes. Light and thin. Great looking watch. underrated on this forum.

How is the 40mm in terms of daily comfort?

Dropped my dssd...way to heavy and looking for a light, comfortable daily wearer for the office.

Also tried the Sd43. Superb watch to the dssd in so many ways but still a little too top heavy for me for a daily.

My other watch is a very comfortable 1960s sub for weight and comfort reference.

Appreciate the help!!!

The YM is more comfortable than the Sub even if it is heavier because of its flatter caseback.
It stays right on your wrist even if your bracelet is a little bit loose ( a little not enough to put a finger ).
Plus the sunray dial on the Yacht-Master... You forget you were looking at your watch to see what time it is and you keep staring at it.
Plus you don’t see many of those around.
Plus it doesn’t sound Rolie.
Plus it is less shiny than the ceramic bezel.

I love mine to pieces. Just got it and I went for the 16622 version which obviously has the white dial. I love the weight and shine of the platinum with polished center links.

I for some reason prefer the white dial (like my DJII) as I have had too many blue face watches in the past.

If you get a preowned 16622 you can save a boat load of money if you want a white dial version.

I could be mistaken but thought I read the sub c weight was around 160 grams and the ym40 around 140 grams? Could anyone verify?

I have a TT Yachtmaster D serial (2005-2006) and it fits my 7.5" wrist just fine and is very comfortable.

7.5 wrist seems big to me but comfort is a must. Have you tried Daytona/. I love Daytona and have one but turning into more ladies watch. Preparing for hate ...shelter now. Lol

I recently acquired a Yachtmaster in a watch trade. I have never owned one. I have been wearing it nonstop for two weeks and love it on my 7.5 inch wrist. It is very comfortable, and a perfect weight. I am sold...

Larger trends are what they are. Not sure I'd go that far as the majority of the Rolex lineup is still right at or close to 40. I've owned other brands up to 47mm and imho they look a bit cartoonish at such sizes, but again to each their own and if it works for you go for it. The 40mm looks pretty balanced uo to 8 inches i believe.

My wrist is slightly over 8" and I needed an extra link. You should be fine at 7.5!
I love mine!!!

YM is a great watch. Either rhodium or blue. Wears comfortably and is under stated. IMO either dial color is a winner. Good luck.

7.75" wrist here. Love the fit of the YM. First one was the blue dial, now have the TT Choco dial.

I too would recommend a basic Sub. I had the YM on blue and it just did not work out at least for me.

why did it not work for you?

I already have a sub too.

Looking for a bit more flash with the ym and variation since I almost never see them in the wild...but I do see allot of subs.

I love my rhodium YM. I would say it's slightly more comfortable than my Sub due to smoother case. If you already have a Sub, get rhodium or platinum dial.

Does anyone have a side by side picture comparison of the 2012+ supercase vs it's slightly smaller predisesor?

Just got it today and I must say this is sooooooo much more comfortable than the SD43 or the DSSD.

Different models so not a 100% fair comparison, but its night and day. Only been on the wrist for an hour, but wow.

At around 150 grams I can tell this will last on the wrist much longer.

Here is a picture and I am between 7.5 and 7 ¾ in wrist.

Definitely not undersized imho. Hope this thread helps someone else downstream with larger wrists.

Congrats—looks great! It’s more comfortable than a modern Sub. Sits lower on the wrist , hugs the wrist, and feels lighter even with the platinum bezel.

ohI'm liking that it holds true to its position on my wrist without the top heavy side to side dssd/sd43 sliding without having the band too tight more than anything.

Again...really appreciate the online help from other ym owners!
