What do you think of Rolex’s little brother, Tudor?

I am digging deeper into Rolex-history and now I found this little brother called Tudor..
What so you think of Tudor? Pros&cons? How well is Tudor working in a collection?

I started w/ Rolex and quickly came to admire vintage Tudors, chronos & snowflake subs, and DD's.

In 2010 Tudor stepped up their game and I fell in love with and purchased a Heritage Chrono. Tudor has continued to invest more year after year, and I just became the proud own of the new in house movement powered Black Bay GMT release in 2018.

Many Tudor fans here on TRF. They remain a great value for the investment and continue to impress with every new release.

I enjoy my Pelagos, it’s low key, low stress - 72 hour power reserve is very practical for my needs. Feels like a fun tool watch.

“In me”? No, no experience with that. They make great watches though.

They make great watches, but they lack a little refinement in style compared to Rolex. Best bet is to try on as they generally wear thick and chunky (at least the black bays do). If you like the look and feel, however, you will do well to get a better watch at the price.

The in house movements are great and as accurate as any other I have owned.

I took a liking to the BB58, so I have one on order for next month. Looking forward to checking it out as a first time Tudor purchase.

They make some solid watches at a fair price

I'm sure Tudor makes good watches and many people find they watches attractive. My self was considering purchasing Pelagos, but after trying several models at my AD was reconsider due to comparison(or rather lack of it) with Rolex.

I have a BB Harrods. Great piece, well made and bullet proof. That said the hour hand is downright ugly and the lack of crown guards just doesn’t seem right. For the money think an Omega Seamaster is a better bet even with their bewildering array of special editions which can best be described as confusing

Picked my first Tudor up last June. I chose the BBGMT and my Polar 216570 has seen maybe a weeks worth of wrist time since then. I love Tudor and I may never purchase another sport Rolex.

There are definitely certain Tudors I stand behind/love....I even like the ETA blackbays over the maxi subs in general. Just depends on the watch.

What do you think of Rolex’s little brother, Tudor? Any experiences with Tudor in you

A black black bay, a black bay gmt and recently a harrods - all in house movements.

They are great watches, just ultimately not for me. They are a bit thick for my wrist and a bit boxy looking as they are quite long lug to lug and have pivoted end links.

No doubt they are bullet proof, and on the right wrist they look great - just I have had to concede not mine.

I thoroughly reccomend the harrods if you can get one. Lovely shade of green.

I love the vintage Tudors. I love most/all of the 4 and 5 digit Rolexes.

But new? I'd get one of the Tudor offerings--the BB58 is a winner. No doubt they will have something interesting coming out shortly too...

Harrods is the bb to get I agree . I also think they look great on the fabric strap. Much better than a Rolex
