Vintage Rolex Jubilee Bracelets rattle too, so its in good company.
You can kind of hack it with slight back pressure sometimes on the crown, but it doesn't alway work. But I agree the lack of hacking is not an issue.
It is nice to have both the day and date windows.
The bezel is nicely marked and coloured and the hour markers look very professional and vintage especially without having any steel embellishments.
It is reminiscent of vintage Rolex professional models such as the 1675 and the 1680.
Although I have the SKX007, I do love the SKX009 perhaps more.
The watch wears very comfortably on the wrist and the crown located at 4 O'Clock is cool.
The 009 has a dark blue dial which somehow to me looks charcoal in many photographs, but in real life it is more visually appealing than photos can depict if that makes sense to anyone.
Although the watch cannot be wound, it starts up with a few flicks of the wrist and is not prone to stopping with daily wear so it's a very reliable watch for timekeeping.
The splash of red writing on the dial is cool and the extra line of text if you get the "made in japan" model is a bonus.
The lume is second to none (much better than Rolex), which is so amazing at this price point.
The second hand stands out with its painted white tip as a final touch and makes one think that Seiko really did pay quite a lot of attention to detail with this watch at a price that cannot be beaten.

You hit all the salient points Steve

Funny you should mention the blue dial ... I was beginning to wonder if the dial on this one was black/gray until I got it outside under natural light, that’s when I noticed the blue color finally showing

Congrats Brian. I have the exact same SKX setup (gift from a friend) and I love it. Gets a load of wrist time

Thank you Adam, it’s really a nice wearing watch.

Can you Comment on what your power reserve is like? I’m brand new to this reference, but in my reading it appears as though it should have about 41 hours give or take.

I started mine yesterday by gently shaking it (almost like a frisbee motion) for about a minute and then wore it til about 6 pm. This morning it had stopped.

Yes, I'm a little colour blind, but the matt blue dial is very subtle but looks super nice in person.

Rolex must not have a current patent on the Jubilee Bracelet because its link design is almost the spitting image of the Seiko Jubilee bracelet. Rolex usually hates anyone making the same stuff as it produces, but this appears to be a happy co-existence as far as the Jubilee is concerned!

I never timed it, but it's never stopped on me overnight.

I’m not meaning to hijack this thread by posting twice but I just want to mention two more things...
1) Brian, having read posts of yours in the past, along with your thoughtful welcome greetings to new members to TRF, I have to commend you on being one of the most polite members here. :)
2) Also, if you find that your wearing your Seikos more often than other watches, I’ll take that Lt. one in the photo off your hands if you like!

You’re too kind Janet

If I ever decide to part with that one, it will be because I’ve had a temporary lapse in reason but you will be the first person I contact.

Great watch. Congratulations!

I too, am a fan of the stock Seiko Jubilee bracelet.
It's chintzy, rattly-and feels great.

Great choice! Love the SKX line. I’ve changed out the original bracelet on just about every one of my Seiko watches but for some reason I always go back to the OEM jubilee for the 009.

Congrats, Brian! I think that makes #2 now?

If you have any outdoor shots I'd love to see the blue dial. Here it looks charcoal so that has me curious now. Thanks in advance!

It sure is. I also sometimes wear mine on this bund strap if I'm feeling some mid-to-late-1970s nostalgia (which is pretty often).

Congratulations Brian. It's a great watch I have the 007. I wear it on a NATO because the factory Jubilee is too small

Great watch!
I have a 007 that I usually wear on Strapcode jubilee. It’s my go to travel watch. Often debate picking up a 009 for a bit of colour.

Huge congrats!

The seiko skx007 jubilee bracelet is what motivated me to get a Datejust on jubilee. I wanted to try the original jubilee.

Those watches wear great and I hope to buy another one soon, although I am leaning toward the skx013 this time.

Agreed, there’s something charming about it and to be honest it’s one of the most comfortable watches I’ve owned

Interesting to hear

I’ve been tempted to try a strapcode jubilee but after reading tons of reviews it seems as though many do just what you’ve done
