Venison and bison in these parts. Any horses here are work or show animals. Can't see myself eating Ol' Paint.

Never heard of eating horse.... outside of my cousin's husband who told me that in certain parts of Italy, horse meat is popular.

Note: Many are raised purely for meat. Not end of labor, then for food, use.

Still, I'd have a hard time eating an animal that's smart enough to be trained. Pigs are the exception since they'll eat their owner if given the opportunity. It happens.

During multiple trips to China, I was served slightly frozen raw horsemeat sliced thinly sashimi-style. Swished in a ponzu dipping sauce, it was actually pretty tasty.

Tastes like chicken?
I once ate some Sea Biscuit which was quite good. Had it in a Willits diner. |

I've eaten horse at least once a week all my life.
Smoked, steaks, in stew, it is great meat. |

That is ridiculous, why would it be illegal? Isn't it the land of freedom? ...

I feel like there is a very big taboo on eating horse meat in the US, yet it is so common here. Odd. |

The horses are raised, surrendered or found or sold at auction. I’m telling you, you’ve eaten it. |

If Han can slice open a TaunTaun, shove Luke in it, you can eat a horse.
