Had it as a pizza topping in Switzerland (seems fairly common there). I thought it was just ok.

Anyone ever eat horse?
There was a scandal in the UK a few years ago where companies were swapping beef for horse meat without disclosing.
So... probably Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I passed on a cheval burger in France, but only because it cost more than the cow burger.
Wasn’t going to pay extra for some type of ground up horse. I could have bought horse steaks from a butcher in Saint Barth’s, but once again passed. I don’t have an aversion to exotic meats as I have eaten Puffins and Whale. Both tasty and different. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There's a strong taboo in America because horses generally have pet status. This taboo has become law in many states. Even slaughtering horses has ended for the moment, since the states in which the slaughterhouses existed made the practice illegal.
However, there is a thriving business exporting horses to Canada or Mexico to be slaughtered. The meat is then normally exported to the European Union. |

I have a rather nice pair of cordovan shoes. When I drop them off for polishing or to have a heel replaced, my kindly old shoe repair guy (who is from Eastern Europe) always says, “Theez shoes eez from pony.” I don’t think he’s trying to make me feel bad, but he does.

Yes. Horse meat is delicious and nutritious; it’s sweet, tender and low in fat - who wouldn't like that?

I had a horse burger in France.
My thoughts? Terrible. It didn’t help that I’d asked for well done and it was served rare. |

I've eaten monkey.
In South Korea the smallest of dogs were usually chained up. Rarely if ever saw one running around. At least that's the way it was the last I was stationed there in 83.
