My 993 repair bill after 6000 kilometers since March, April is about 100 euros (new DME relay).

The build quality is amazing. My car is 28 years old and it feels new. I'm not exaggerating.

Check out this video and how these cars are made.

Thanks! Will be looking for a 993.

I owned my 993 for 12 yrs, drove it like I stole it, tracked it, DIY'ed every repair and mod you can imagine. Most reliable car I have ever owned, never once a mechanical issue.

Yes indeed. 993 cost so much to make for the factory that Porsche almost went to bankrupt in the 1990's. Largely hand made car and that quality is just amazing.

The only cars that come close quality wise are the mid-90's Mercedes (Bruno Sacco era) R129, W140 and W124. After that these factories cut the expenses considerably and the quality was never the same.

Isn't it ironic and remarkable that as you said, the company almost went bankrupt at one point in the '90s, and yet next week on the 29th they are going IPO for what will be the 2nd largest IPO in German history?! Pretty amazing.

It was. The only reason I sold it was a new 1984 Champagne Carrera called my name…that, and the Targa top began leaking…

Again, not my photo but the 2nd Carrera I bought. Out of the box it was superb - the redesigned front aero kept it planted with the tail even at 150+.

Beautiful JP ! Love the blue! I’ve actually picked up another air-cooled beauty recently, I posted in the “car love” thread.
I did a similar drive and took some pics trying to get in some last bit of fall colors before the trees were bare. These were from my driveway after driving awhile.

What a beauty!!!

I've driven all air cooled generations but never a longhood. I hope I can fix that as soon as possible.

Those are super beautiful cars.
