AD Turnover

Anyone else experiencing difficulty navigating turnover at their AD? I had a relationship with a SA who had previously delivered for me. Time goes by after discussing my next hopeful purchase with this SA and I find out that she departed the store. By the time I realize this a few months have passed, so I have to start a new relationship with a SA. 2 weeks go by and now this SA leaves as well, and I have to strike up the request with yet another SA. It’s understandable to expect turnover in the retail industry, but I was wondering if anyone had tips to not “lose your spot” , sort to say, when the SA you’ve been working with leaves your AD.

perhaps use the SA leaving as a way to speak with and get to know the manager

Better to lose an SA than the AD loses its Rolex Franchise. Talk about moving back in line, no line…

Interestingly enough, when I reached out to the last SA over email, it was the manager who responded to let me know that the SA had left and connected me with another SA. I felt like expressing some frustration with having to start over however I appreciated the fact that the manager could have just ignored the email but instead took the time out to assist. Any suggestions on how to build a connection with the manager or am I past this point now that she has connected me with another SA?

I assume that your purchase history is with the AD though and not the SA? That should at least give you a head start

You were never really that far up the line anyway. When you are far up enough, you'll meet the manager, whom you can ask to speak to. Just do that.

My Boutique’s six current SA’s have mostly been there since it opened some 7 years ago. I have known my SA much longer and have followed him through several dealer moves in the past. If he left for another AD I’d probably follow him again. If he retired, my relationship with the manager is sound and I’d ask her to connect me with one of the other SA’s.

purchase history at the Dealer goes above any relationship with a SA. if you don't have the purchases it won't matter how in you are with the SA. It's the manager who makes the decisions to sell to you or not. The SA just goes to bat for you but really has less say than the AD/Manager.

This is what I'm currently going through... My SA left last month. New SA wants me to fly out and make an introduction despite having made multiple purchases with the store. Ridiculous.

I’ve seen that line 2x in the past 18 months. First AD delivered Meteorite GMT before the plug was pulled. Second delivered a RG daytona w baguettes for the wife before their plug was pulled.

My Patek contact retired due to health reasons and my place in line for the 5968A seems to have gotten disrupted.

Rule of thumb, don’t shop where I shop. It’s a matter of time before things go wrong. Lol.

I learned years ago to deal with the person who makes the decisions. That goes for almost everything. Get to the manager/GM and cultivate that relationship and do get thrown off on someone else.

I lost my SA first, then three months later lost the whole AD

I'm just glad I'm not playing the game anymore. I'm good with what I have as far as Rolex is concerned, and just about everything else I buy used.

Most all of this so called AD relationship stuff mainly exists in internet fantasy land.
